I read somewhere that they think Lewis driving style does not work well with the larger wheel and smaller tire combo. His style relies on sidewall give and with out it he does not feel comfotable. He is barely Q3 material at this point

He is barely Q3 material at this point Well, he was only 0.144 seconds behind his teammate and he beat his teammate last year by quite a few points, so he must be able to sort it out fairly well. Honestly, every driver complains about "no grip" almost every weekend.

Still early into the new car. i will give him 3-5 more races to figure it our.

But it will be interesting to see how the Russell-Hamilton contest develops throughout the season. I think George is pretty quick.

He is barely Q3 material at this point If Lewis is wants tire flex to be able to feel 'comfortable' he needs to talk to Pirelli to reduce the minimum tire inflation pressures. Pirelli has the pressures relatively higher so that tires don't fail from excessive sidewall flex.

George is VERY quick, but still prone to brain fart every now and then. What's interesting to me will be at what point will the departing Hamilton be given the technical cold shoulder.

Supposedly the Merc's bouncing has returned and is especially bad in the first sector of high speed turns. Both Russell and Hamilton lost a half second to Max in that area. They were much more competitive in the other sectors.

They were much more competitive in the other sectors. The tech wags are saying they're STILL chasing the "run it as low as possible" philosophy without having a full grasp of it's short comings. The McClaren's are dragging their bottoms a lot as well.

Hey! Alonso is starting on the second row! That's exciting.
Beardman looked pretty good out there. I did kind of feel for his dad. Every time they showed him in the pits he looked like he was about to have a nervous breakdown. In a lot of ways this is the perfect way to make your debut, because given how little time he's had in the car, anything he does looks pretty good. I hope he has a good day tomorrow.

Is Hamilton doing his own race strategy? Why didn’t they stop when anyone else did? And now a five second penalty for Sergio.

Two ten second penalties on MAG, he’s got to get it together.
