It was a pretty decent little race !! The track is really too small for the speed & weight of these cars, but it was good to have cars on the track, and shake the Winter cobwebs off !! A chance to start getting used to new car numbers too. Kinda funny Lame-Gano lecturing Gibbs, after he spent his career knocking guys out of the way... Pot meet Kettle !! LOL

LOL Wonder if Gibbs eats French Fries with his fingers? We know La-Gag-no doesn't. He uses a fork. That wallows in lameness.

Junior wants the Clash to return to Daytona. Wants "Speedweeks" to mean something. Does anyone know why the Clash was moved and why "Speedweeks" is a Speedweekend?
The past 2 clashes at Daytona were dumpster fires and the teams wanted less time 'testing' at Daytona to save money.

Maybe NASCAR needs to cut the fat in terms of schedule instead of gimmicky non-championship races or shortening races. Maybe cut back to 30-31 races, maybe total. Problem is ISC/NASCAR and SMLLC probably won't go for it, and we'd risk the two independent tracks (Pocono and Gateway) getting the shaft (more so in the case of Pocono).

It isn't happening until 2031... if at all. NASCAR/ISC and SMI/Marcus Smith will have to each lose date equally. Less race = less money and NOBODY is willing to take less money. N-O-B-O-D-Y

One of the things that I disagree with Jr. about. The Clash gives the teams and drivers in it an unfair advantage of testing at the track under actual race conditions. I would love to see the clash move around to smaller tracks in Florida or somewhere down south.

That's a good point about the track advantage.

Daytona had trouble getting fans to show up in Daytona the last few years it was there. Packaging that race up with the Pole Day, Duels, the 125 qualifying, the Twin 125's, qualifying for ARCA, Xfinity and Trucks, the ARCA race, the Xfinity race, the Truck race, AND the 500. That's a LOT of events to ask fans to buy tickets for in one week. That's a LOT of money to attend al of them. It was a test of a fan's stamina. Oversaturation. Whatever you want to call it.

'Speedweeks' used to be exactly that - weeks. It kicked off with the 24 hours, then Nascar started the next day with all kinds of classes, the Clash was the next weekend, followed by the week with qualifying and the duels. Not to mention the short track stuff going on at New Smyrna and elsewhere. It was a friggin' orgy of racing. People would be camped in the RVs in the infield for damn near 3 weeks.
Now? Meh. I can take it or leave it.
