How dumb does Elliott's brain trust have to be to run him out of fuel?

Aside from Byron, Hendrick Motor Sports is garbage. But at least Elliot is more than likely going to miss the playoffs. That brings a smile to my face. Merry Off-season jerkoff.

On the last lap. Austin Dillon gave a slight tap to Larson to get by him. Based on the replay I have seen, Larson didn't take it well and decided to break the #1 rule of stock car racing, "Wreck someone without wrecking yourself." Full sends it into Dillion and spins both himself and Dillion out. Almost taking Corey Lajoie with them. Afterward, Larson didn't really want to hear what Dillon had to say and dismissed him.
Dillon is a world-class clown, we all know this. Larson is a pansy, entitled world-class clown.

Then look for changes in the "Playoffs" qualifiers. NASCAR simply can not have their most popular driver miss the playoffs. I am looking for shenanigans to occur at Daytona.

Happened several times with Junior, I don't see how Elliot would be an exception. Especially given without the broken leg and getting parked by NASCAR for dumping Hamlin at the 600, he'd probably be in on points.

Running out of fuel at the Glen was a unforced error. No Cup team that does it should even be considered for The Chase. Absolute incompetent rookie mistake.

Byron, Bowman, and Larson will do nothing to Elliot except too bend over backward to help him win the race. Bubba is very capable of winning the race and has Reddick and his boss locked in. So expect them to help Bubba no matter what. Bell and Truex will help Gibbs no matter what.

Wonder if Elliott will behave next year and not risk f'ing himself up??
If I was Hendrick, I would lay down the law. If any of the team doesn't like it, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

I sort of doubt it, given how much Rick bent over backward to get Larson when he got on the market after Twitch-gate. Including allowing Kyle to run non-NASCAR sanctioned races (something Hendrick until then rarely did with full-time Cup drivers) and footing the bill himself for Larson's sponorship (big reason why Hendrick missed out on Larson after Gordon retired in '15, in addition to not paying Cheap Ganasshole's extortion fee/bribe). Not to mention that it's probably take changing contracts, plus these guys can get hurt just around the house or a road car accident, let alone even in a Truck, Xfinity or Cup series race (as we've seen the past year in a half).

If you have Larson racing anything with wheels all during the week, in season, how are you going the reign in the other team members that also want 'excitement' in their 'private time' between races. And after Hendrick has bought into Larson running Indy in 2024 you are well beyond twofaced to put restrictions on the other team drivers.

Too bad.
It's just a matter of time before he crashes in the Sprints and seriously fucks himself up and misses his main income.

The bottom line is if Hendrick had put his foot down earlier, he would have 3 cars in the Chase.

I already said that they could get injured doing non-racing, mundane shit. And we know that you can get hurt a lot easier in the new car the way it's currently built than in most other racing cars. If Hendrick back pedals on letting his drivers do non-NASCAR sanctioned races, chances are they'll leave, and he'll be back at square one. And besides, how much is Rick still involved with the team given his age and how much influence that Gordon and Evernham have now?
Only plus I can see is that Hendrick can maybe get drivers as good for cheaper, but I wouldn't want guys like Larson going to a rival team that can compete with me. Plus, I don't know of any drivers in trucks or Xfinity of the talent level that Rick would want.
