Chuck's lost weekend at Imola where between the Sprint and binning it in the main race to finish 6th allowing Max to make up 19 points is looking big. It cancelled one of the RB DNF's and the engina she cancelled the other today.

Feel bad for Checo but I see why Redbull did team orders. He has not yet demonstrated he is in the WDC hunt.
A lot is made about team orders, but the certain thing is many championships have been lost for not using them...

Good race IMHO and i'm prolly going to be the only one saying i don't think it was entirely Lulu's fault for clashing with Mags. If you look at the replay Ham kept his wheels pointing to the right, Mags was sawing away all the way thought the corner, right before they hit it looked like Kevin corrected a snap of oversteer, that pointed him right into Lulu's sliding car and they hit. It wasn't Lulu's usual run them out of space move so i agree it was a racing incident.
Where Lulu failed was his moaning about quitting afterwards, not a very GOAT moment. And isn't it a bit early in the year for Ferrari to be crapping the bed, Chuck had that race over and done.
6 races in and RB is already boning Checo,it's NOT going to get any better for him.
Alpine looked better on race pace and Norris and Bottas are one man shows, now on the the forced march know as Monaco, pray for rain.

so after the race the talking heads were going on and on in their interview with horner about checho giving up the lead to max. like that was the only reason max won. well it wasn't. with the sky talking heads if lulu doesn't win then max was gifted the win. I wish I could speak spanish, I'd watch the spanish feed It's called "fair & balanced". Fair to Lewis and Balanced against Red Bull. What part of that do you not understand. In times over the past 40 years, I have strongly disliked Nigel, Ayrton, Nelson, Michael, Sebastian, Fernando, Lewis, Max and Charles. (If you ask me about other drivers, I'd probably shake my head and say: "whatever". There is drivers I like, but no one I dislike among the others.) As time passed, I ended up strongly liking or absolutely adoring some of these drivers. But, without a doubt, I ended up (hating?) strongly disliking Ayrton and Lewis. Between them they have 11 WDCs. But today, and so far this season, is why I dislike Lewis. Gives up because the chips didn't fall his way. Had to be talked out of retiring the car to "save the engine." I remember other drivers like Michael and Prost and Max (especially last year), fall to the back of the grid because of some action on the track or something beyond their control. Not once do I remember these drivers giving up and saying, OK, let's park this thing. You want to defend Lewis, just go ahead. I mean, Alonso has been back for a season and 6 races so far. He's not really running up front. Yet, I have not heard him complain once. What the hell is wrong with Lewis? And yes, the race was boring. Except for the Russell v. Verstappen action. I turned it off after the checkered flag. Success has changed Hamilton - in the early years he would work against adversity, now as a 7 time WDC he thinks adversity is beneath him.

I disagree, I slowed down the replay and watched it 3 times and Mags kept a steady wheel, Lewis turned slightly left to come off the corner and made the contact. IMO.

^I agree it looked like Mags was trying to control his car and beat Lulu to the apex and was having serious traction problems

Lewis only drifted up a little. As much as I would like to blame him it looks like kmags more at fault. Kmags will probably be banned from appearances on Sky for making contact with Lewis. I can't beleive Lewis want to park the car on the second lap because he was in the back. I might be able to understand that reasoning with a few laps to go but he had the whole race to make up positions. I doubt the greatest drivers of the sport ever did that. It just made them drive harder.

^I agree it looked like Mags was trying to control his car and beat Lulu to the apex and was having serious traction problems If you watch closely (frame by frame) at KMags' camera Lewis moves slightly left just as the contact occurs. You can see the top LH's LF tire follows the kerb until the very end, then a gap between the top of the tire and kerb appears then *bang* contact. Notice the Ferrari ahead of LH stays right on the kerb all the way thru this period.

His car was sliding had Kmags not been there to make contact he would have went way wide. He was not in control of the car at that point, it only looked that way.

Understood, but he did move away from the kerb whether by steering input or sliding, IMO, is irrelevant. LH moved into KMags, IMO. It is not the responsibility of the car on the outside to allow the inside car to slide out.

After watching that video over and over I will change my opinion. Originally I thought kmags comes down more than Lewis moved up but after watching it several times kmags looks to be holding a steady line. They were pretty close as kmags was attempting pass and Lewis pushed wide and made contact.

Was Lulu's car moving? Absolutely, but so was Mag's. Let's not forget this was RACING, not a parade lap, cars moving and sliding shouldn't be that foreign of a concept here. Hamilton was on harder tires than the rest, simply feeding in throttle would be enough to make his car understeer wide but not do much that he would have drove off the track had Kevin not been there. Besides, Mags had a lot more room on the outside to maneuver so he can't say he had no where else to go, he held his line, that was HIS choice. this was not like Lulu running Albon off like he did in Austria years back, both drivers held responsibility for this one, the stewards made the correct call.

Lewis rear end broke loose - the only thing that stopped it was hitting Kmag.

^There's a disagreement between Sky and Autosports "The Race about how fast the Merc's actually are. The Sky boys think Lulu could have won if he didn't have the first lap flat while Autosport say Hamilton's alternate pit strategy left him in clean air most of the race helping his run through the field. Sky talks about Lulu matching Chuck's lap times but they ignore that he would have been on the slower mediums stuck behind other cars if his first stint had gone to plan.
