Albon gets a point for Williams one has to wonder why they didn't bring him in a few laps sooner so he could get a few more

lets not let the facts interfere with a good lulu comment. :-) Or with the prevailing narrative that Lulu is the GOAT. One might think the "GOAT" has the ability to find a setup that works for them quicker than a guy who's almost never driven an F1 Mercedes car before but it seems like the Mercedes Team starts over at every race from square one. Years ago on the broadcasts Peter what's his name talked about 'little books' the Engineers kept of the settings that they had on the car at that track so they had a starting point the next year, but it seems with all the changes none of them are working.

Supposedly the 2022 regulations have changed the cars so much that the 'book' from prior years is not relevant to the set up of the current car.

A true GOAT can make any car do better than it should. A true GOAT would never be out qualified by a teammate and will shine under adversity. Lewis does none of those things.
Schumacher's F1 debut in the Jordan 191 at Spa. A rookie he steps into the shitbox Jordan and qualifies it 7th on the grid, by far the highest starting position for the team up to that date. Lewis simply can not do this. He can not elevate a car by his skill alone, unlike other drivers.
Examples of this: Senna at Lotus Kimi at Sauber Alonso at Ferrari and there are others. Lewis needs to either shut up, put his head down, work hard and drive like there in no tomorrow, or retire. I have a sneaky suspicion that he may not finish this season. Citing "Mental health reasons".

I feel a little sorry for Fred getting caught up in Vettel's flailing about, he would have done better by copying Albon's strategy. I kind of expected this year to be full of mechanical failures and bad strategy decisions. Easiest way to shove Alonso aside for Piastri is to have only one car disintegrate every week and, before it does, make sure he gets the absolute highest-risk strategy possible. And I think Piastri is good. But... 1) He's not Alonso good. 2) The same things were said of can't-miss McLaren phenom Stoffel Vandoorne, who took Jenson Button's place.

I can see Piastri as part of the Andretti Global/Renault deal, but right now that's all up to the FIA letting them in.

Seeing how sloppy and ragged Lulu's driving became every time he had competition over the last 8 years says all you need to know about the GOAT thing, and so far this year he doesn't look all that hungry compared to George.

Approaching 40 can dull the hunger. Then he and Mercedes need to agree to part ways and let Mercedes move forward with both the car and the Championships.

I thought the Ferrari was porpoising a lot more than the Merc. Charlie wasn't complaining and was still the fastest guy on the track. All that complaining must be slowing Lewis down. Now I see he is complaining about the no jewelry rule and says he can't remove his since they are "welded" in. I must be too old to understand this welded in stuff.

If some Mechanic uses a chop saw on it he will rethink the welded in bit from then on!! There was also a big story, according to "Ted", about wearing fireproof underwear as well, seems some guys weren't wearing it, you'd think after the Grosjean fireball that would be a nobrainer for everyone!!

I know what I'm doing" After that quote went viral Kimi had however many hundred printed up and he gave a couple to each employee of the team. Everybody at the factory. Everyone connected to the team. Many went on sale on the internets. The nephew Rich and his wife Angie got one of em off the net and gave it to me for a christmas present, a month or so after the race. A treasured possession. :-)
