The teams had some 27 hours of track time and countless engineering hours to arrive at their race setups. For the next race they'll have just 3 hours of track time at a place they've only been to once before with a different car.

Looking at Merc's trap speed in P3 they were 7-8 mph down on the Bulls and red cars, i think they raised the ride height to stop the porpoising and cranked on wing.

LeClerc and Max pole laps side-by-side.

While there are 'resource restrictions'; in a organization as large as MB Corporation - things can get lost in the cracks and what the Race Team allocates and pays for the development of some piece of kit can be a very minor fraction of what the Corporation invested in the design and development for some other area of the Corporation. A windfall of riches. You are living in dream world. If Mercedes had the resource to fix the car quickly they already would have. To utilize resources, first you have to have a definitive idea of what is actually happening. Seemingly, at present, MB doesn't have a clue.

Resources are key to figuring out what is going wrong, get it? Mercedes and every other team are now resource restricted thus figuring out what is going wrong and correcting it will be harder than in the past. If Mercedes had the resources they used to have their car would already be fixed.

And can I just add:
I do not like the new on-board cameras. Nope. I do not like them one bit.
Love seeing Ferrari P1. Nice to see somebody other than The Usual Suspects up there.

Mercedes has overnight to figure why they finished where they did and how to do better in the race, they have won some great races in the past thru their strategy people, yes sometimes it failed, but they won a bunch of WDC's and WCC's so I wouldn't count them out of still doing well this season. The mercs, they're behind the 8 ball. And they can't spend their way out of this mess. Budget caps. Limited computer time and so on. True but you can't turn off a persons mind, kinda like Newey sketching designs on paper in his 'spare time'. NO the Mercs problems won't be solved by thinking but the start of the solution MAY and then testing will prove whether it's right or not.

I totally agree, they are cute and gimmicky but you can't see a damn thing about the race and that's what I want to watch, F1 Drivers etc grew up looking thru smaller and smaller spaces so have no problems driving at 200mph while looking thru a fricking peep hole but I as a fan and race watcher can't see anything about what's going on around someone as they show the race from 'the drivers perspective'. I want to see how they take the corner from above and how they setup other cars for passing as the race progresses.

This applies to all forms of sport - stick & ball to motorsports and everything in between. The reality is that the participant has absolutely the worst view of whatever the sport being broadcast it. The driver only sees that part of the race that his head is in. I have been a participant in any number of races that were dog fights between the winner and 2nd place - however, I never saw any of the combat for the win as I wasn't a part of that particular dog fight.

Hope Leclerc and Verstappen don't take themselves out.
Looking forward to seeing Bottas in the Alfa taking it to Lewis beside him at the start.
Lewis is facing an uncomfortable position to find himself in on the grid now; surrounded by cars/drivers that aren't intimidated or overcompensated by Mercedes 'power'.
Hopefully we'll get some good close racing that throws some surprises.

Thank you, but there's no need for it today as his Worship will be starting 5th giving Crofty the blue balls. Lets just hope Struns doesn't dig up a meme for THAT. Oh I won't

Inside the helmet camera's suck because we aren't inside the head of the driver and don't know what his thinking is at the time he move his head and changes the camera's view and we have relatively no idea of what he is actually looking for and no knowledge if what he saw is what he wanted to see.

The once dominant Mercedes PU is now meh. Too much rear wing, had to raise the car to minimize the porpooooosing
