P3, LeClerc, 2nd, Lulu, 6th. Both would have their times deleted in qualifying as both went all four wheels off in turn 4. Unless of course the new sheriff in town race directors get selective in applying such penalties. :-)

The Mercedes PU has definitely lost some grunt. The Ferrari PU is looking potent.

I think I'm experiencing a state of stunned euphoria. Scuderia Ferrari looks like a contender and Mercedes looks like Ferrari of the last 2 years.

Mercedes has overnight to figure why they finished where they did and how to do better in the race, they have won some great races in the past thru their strategy people, yes sometimes it failed, but they won a bunch of WDC's and WCC's so I wouldn't count them out of still doing well this season. |

The mercs, they're behind the 8 ball. And they can't spend their way out of this mess. Budget caps. Limited computer time and so on. |

I'm waiting to see if Lulu after going retro on his helmet goes retro on his driving. That is driving like he did in 2009 / 3013 when he didn't always start at the front and sometimes took other cars or himself out while trying to force his way to the front

Their staff is about half of what it used to be, CFD and wind tunnel time are also drastically cut. They might make it back to the front eventually but by that time it might be too late for the championships. Wewillsee. |
