Figures don't lie, but liars figureThe worst case is that once it lapses the teams can sell their rights to anyone. Teams want the charters to be permanent and they want more money. Well, Jim Frace has said in the past he doesn't want the charters to be permanent. One side says it is a 7% increase, the other 10 says it is a 10% increase. API (all parties involved) are lying to each other. Numbers can be made to say anything. let us also add the fact that the drivers want to be paid more. A NASCAR YTber said that he thinks (lots of salt taken here) that NASCAR wants cost caps. Why would anyone give the teams more money when in 5 years they can complain again about not having any? I hope they don't get a deal done. I want to see Hellfire and Brimstone. Both parties need each other and nobody is admitting it. Everyone wants to be paid more for doing less. Both sides of the coin have the same aim.

Figures can lie. Liars can figure. Feature that such a organization that had not made a 'profit' in 10 years would no longer exist. Thought IRS regulations required a level of profitability once in every five year span.

"#NASCAR has confiscated roof rail deflectors of the No. 10 and No. 41 @stewarthaasrcng Cup cars for review.
No immediate penalty, anything further could come next week per a NASCAR spokesperson."

This is the third year in a row that SHR tried Monkey Business with the Gen 7 cars. Stupid monkey business that gains them nothing, but putting them in a big time hole at the start of the season.

Granted, that's light compared to how teams got hammered in the past for arguably similar or lesser offenses. Also, Logano go nailed 10K for the glove, but no further penalties.

If wearing a webbed glove will improve performance, then NASCAR seriously needs to re-think these cars.

According to NASCAR's rules, driver gloves cannot be modified and must have separate sections for each finger and thumb. Logano's gloves were stitched together in a web between the thumb and index finger, which was done to help him reduce drag when he put his hand up to his window.

NASCAR demonstrating their turds for brains in bringing 'performance' to the violation. Problem #1 was it was not an approved fire retardant glove. That’s a serious safety issue. Problem #2 is it was a cheat that altered the aerodynamics of the car. Any sanctioning body is going to penalize a cheater. “Performance” became a bad thing when cars were getting into the catch fence and injured fans. That’s a sure fire way of watching your house and belongings disappear in today’s litigious society.

Everybody understands that the modifications to the gloves was a major safety violation. I don't think anybody is questioning that.
However, trying to say this is a performance enhancing modification is total, complete bullshit.

How do you alter the aerodynamics of the car with a glove that is INSIDE the vessel upon which the aerodynamics operate? With NASCAR's interpretation they would claim it was the glove that sank the Titanic, not striking the iceberg.

The window net is weaved tightly, not only for safety but also to reduce turbulence and drag on the left side of the car. The net is a spec part built by Thermal Control Products and is used by all NASCAR Cup teams. The tight weave of the net reduces drag to an extent but there are still large holes where the air can enter the cabin along with a gap in the triangular area just ahead of the net.
Drivers will often focus on blocking this area with their left hand as they hit the straights on large ovals during qualifying to block some of the air that is entering the car and reduce drag. They will sometimes alternate between placing their hand in the gap ahead of the net and onto the net itself to not only prevent that air from entering the car but also attempt to deflect some of it off the side of the car. This helps the air avoid the large spoiler on the back of the car.

How about that Rajah Caruth? He put on quite a show on Friday night winning from the pole in Las Vegas. Big week for the young man, signed with a full time sponsor for the complete season, winning pole and the race. Good deal!
