It'll be interesting how the soft/medium mix plays out after Max blew RB's preferred strategy. I suspect he will still make it work. I'm guessing the Mercedes strategy folks have a whole lot of work in front of them after being giddy upon hearing Max flat spotted his only brand new set of medium tires. Mercedes has both gotten lucky and screwed themselves in race strategy when they have to explain to Lulu what is going on and why with any changes, hopefully for the Max fans that happens again and for the Lulu fans things go as planned with no changes.

As long as Hamilton stays away from Max the race should go smoothly.

Perez is also on softs, can he dispatch Norris and actually make a run at Lewis with DRS? Bottas has no interest in helping Lewis.

As long as Hamilton stays away from Max the race should go smoothly. Will Norris take them both out in T1? The most likely scenario I see: Norris (in a Mercedes powered car) hits Verstappen from behind during the first few corners. Norris gets penalized, BUT Verstappen suffers enough damage to retire the car. Hamilton wins the race. Hamilton wins the championship. How likely is this scenario? 85% Reasons why: 1) Norris is not used to being that far upfront (yes, he's started that high before, but it's not a regular occurrence.) 2) Norris' McLaren is powered by Mercedes (no, I'm not implying collusion.) 3) McLaren WERE the Mercedes powered company BEFORE Mercedes returned as a constructor - So, if Mercedes were to leave again as a constructor, McLaren would want to keep the engine. I'm pretty sure this is how it's going to play out. You disagree? FIGHT ME.

Norris is more useful to Toto than the used up and uninterested and uncooperative Bottas.
Norris will do exactly what Toto tells him to do.

The same could be said about Perez making a lunge from behind Hamilton

during Q2 crofty sounded like a kid in a candy store when Max had to run on the soft tires. Then he sounded like his dog just died when max did the hot lap in Q3. Going on and on about the draft or whatever. :-) The draft was worth maybe q 10th or two. But he was nearly a 1/2 second faster at that point. :-)

He has started from the front a few times this season without incident. More likely Perez hits Hamilton or Max in turn 1 than Norris hitting Max. I have feeling no one will hit anyone in the front.

I think the graphic showed he still had two sets of mediums on hand.

With all the favoritism that F1 management is being accused of, are we forgetting that it specifically slowed Mercedes down this year with its mandated aero changes around the rake of the cars? No, that was to slow ALL of the cars. It just effected Merc and Forced Nepotism more because of their low rake concepts. Purely a coincidence, I'm sure.

That was one brutal lap by Max He was no where near as "crash waiting to happen" as he was last race, that gives us hope.

The same could be said about Perez making a lunge from behind Hamilton Norris will most likely be used to try and block Perez from getting up the inside of Hamilton.
