The schedule was exactly what I figured it would be with the exception of Texas on March 20th. But, I think that makes a lot of sense. May 1st through June 12th will be brutal on the teams. 6 races, indy qualifying and practice in 6 week time span is rough. Too many 3 week gaps also. I count 3 and only one race in a 6 week time period early in the season. Overall it looks good despite the long breaks. It’s solid events mostly and almost diverse enough, but the series can only go where it’s economically viable.

It'd be great to bring Richmond back. One more oval would be swell.

With the exception of the long breaks early in the season, it’s a pretty good schedule. I’m fine with one 3 week break during the summer but 3 of them to start the season is something that needs to be addressed.

I'm kind of glad to see Detroit cut back to one race...

It'd be great to bring Richmond back. One more oval would be swell. I agree. I think 6-7 would be perfect as long as it makes sense economically. If you go to other sites, fans bitch and complain about a lack of ovals and I point out that when the series was at its peak, there were 6 ovals. I consider 1995 to be a high water mark for Indycar and there was 6 ovals, so it’s not much different from today. People who want all of these ovals need to review their recent history and see how a series of all, or mostly ovals faired. My ideal schedule is 18-20 races, 6-7 ovals, 5-6 street courses and 7 road courses.

Kind of a weird schedule timing wise. Big, big gaps for the first several months.
