I guess I'm just not used to such deity-like treatment of sports stars in the US. No country fellates its sporting stars like England. Not Spain, not Germany, not even Italy. I can understand nationalism to a point but Sky has to understand it's now the english speaking world's broadcaster, not just England's.

In context it's no worse than American Football and Basketball. Absolute lapping by American sports press and fans. Then there's Dale Earnhardt Jr. THE GREATEST NEVER WAS OF ALL TIME!!!!!

He doesn't take himself as seriously as those writing about him.

Again, I guess YOU never watch the Olympics, either. The reason we don't see it as often in the US is because only a few Americans compete in international sports. Our sports heroes play games within our borders so accolades are "spread out". But let a US bike rider win the TdF, the US Women's soccer team win the world cup, or just about anyone compete well in the Olympics and this country is bending over and opening their mouths for them.

Yes, American media celebrate American participants in International events, and Americans monopolize the screen time of what is shown IN AMERICA. Disney in accepting the Sky broadcast - without editing - to be shown on ESPN has thrown the USA into the deep end of UK homerism.

Say what?
I thought the best drivers in the history of the sport were Lewis, Lando and George.
Everybody else is a pay-driver and a nuisance to these greatness.

Speaking of pay drivers, Stroll has generally done better than most thought he would since he started F1 with daddy's money. Not great, but he has had some bright moments.

Lance is amazing on the rain. Other than that he is mediocre at best With F1 now having nearly the entire field qualifying within one second during Q1 runs (the only Q session where everyone actually gets on track), I would say the mediocre in 2021 is at a much higher level than has ever existed in the past. Mediocre of the past probably would be fighting the 107% rule these days.

Lance is amazing on the rain. Other than that he is mediocre at best His saving grace so far has been the car is very good, if he had a car that wasn't as good he wouldn't be as good either.

IMHO between the current chasss spec and the tires theres' s really not much a driver can do to stand out, the biggest gap we see now is between the AT and Willams duos which is the difference between two very good #1's and one fairly green rookie and a sub par pay driver. The track that really separates the drivers is Singapore, unfortunately we won't be seeing them there this year.

Lance is amazing on the rain. Other than that he is mediocre at best He's good at the start and a decent tire saver but his qually form and lack of outright speed are his limiting factors, there's at least 5 recently excluded drivers that would get more out of that car than he is.

I was sort of blown away by the difference in Olympic coverage between the US and Canada. But that is neither here nor there and I see you threadjacking LOL
