This whole "formula" will be ripe for engineering monotony, good luck trying to keep the ICE below 500 hp. More than likely they'll be 600-650 run under constant load from the MGU to bring them down to the targeted HP, that's right they're going to burn fuel to make power. What little fuel they're going to have that is, more than likely between tire managment, fuel usage, power deployment and aero strategies there's not going to be a lot of actual racing.

Liberty is about the show and nothing else, hence the increase in street races. These cars will be horrible 2-3 seconds a lap slower low fueld levels so everyone will be on fuel mileeage strategy races na dkeeping the Hybrid powered.

Give them Formula V tire widths and scrap the fuel flow sensor/requirement.

Knowing how stingy Renault has been since it's comeback I'd say anythings a possibility, but looking down the road at another possible reg change in 2030 buying off the shelf for a few years while preparing for THAT formula is also a consideration that the press has overlooked. The facts are we've seen a pattern from FOM/FIA lately that makes little financial sense for the manufacturers, they'll be made to conceive, update (to the point of a freeze) then abandon the rule makers whimsy over and over, Alpine could easily drop their PU project (wink) for a few years, buy another company's unit and work on a 2030 engine unfedunfettered buy all that the others will be saddle with, then pop back up late 2028ish with the shocking news (cough) of their return. When we look at the shenanigans between Honda and RB and their PU deal(s) the reality is everyone is in it tor themselves.

At the rate the 2026 Regulations came in to being - the 2030 Regs might be in place by 2040.

It's certainly not for sale to the beard. Flav's job appears to be to create value which you don't do by putting the team up for sale..........at least not right away. It's too close to the next concorde.
