Here's my list from to
10 Haas: A mixture of too cheap to buy colored paint with an 8 year olds afternoon spent with his 1st 2 magic markers. NO STARS!
9 Williams: A grasp for the past from a team that painted there cars whatever the title sponsor wanted them to, WHEN THEY HAD ONE. The little safety yellow accents seal the deal on the municipal water dept utility truck theme. 1.5 stars.
8 Mercedes: Looks like it was put in the spray booth backwards, i mean i get the homage to lulu's cause de jur (and i actually LOVE black F1 cars) but "Silver Arrows" anyone?! If it was silver into a black fade it would rate high, as for now the Petronas teal is the only thing saving it. 3.5 stars.
7 Alpha Tauri: I liked it much better on the Tyrell 019, hearkens back to 1994 (i think it was) when 2/3 of the grid showed up at the 1st race with dark blue cars. The painted wheels and white lower sections (rather than the usual black) adds points though. 4.5 stars.
6 Alfa Romeo: Still digging that red (but wanting more of it), still waiting for that pearl white. The Alfa dragon and clover earn points. 6 stars.
5 Ferrari: The king of legacy, national colors. could be rated higher when the actual livery comes out. 6.5 stars (for now)
4 McLaren: Big fan of the Papaya and blue, that's how you do legacy colors (Williams i'm looking at you). Fingers crossed mega sponsor money doesn't buy new paint 7 stars
3 Red Bull: Yeah it's the same but Newey's cars aren't about the wrapper and i like that "if it doesn't make it any faster, why change it" affect. Would love to see the return of pin stripes from a decade ago. 8 stars.
2 Aston Martin: Are there better shades of green? yes, but THIS is tradition with hair on it. The only thing more "British" would be a black and gold JSP on the grid next to it but we know THAT ship has sailed (and sunk) so here we are. Extra points for finding a tasteful way to add the Pepto pink 8.5 stars.
1 Alpine: Well you knew this one from the start, it's the BLUE BABY! I swear IDK if i'd lick that paint or bite it if i ever got close enough to that thing but i'm pretty sure the merch sales will pay for half of next year's car. Points added for the black bottom making the colors pop and clever mixing of Alpine blue in the tri-colour French flag theme, already a classic and a good thing we'll still be able see it from halfway down the grid, because that's where that car will be. 9.75 stars.
