It was in the low 1:40's which would have split the Haas cars at the rear in FP1. In FP2 that time wouldn't even have gotten a glimpse of the rear of the pack. Alonso was on it, it was no cheapo demonstration run. Was the car on period rubber or current day rubber? If it was on current rubber the car was not designed around those tires and I suspect for this 'demonstration' the car was not really set up to take advantage of any rubber, old or new.

Period rubber for that car would have been grooved Michelin's. He'll run on all 3 days on slick Pirelli's.

Painted lines as track limits still suck.
If track limits - are truly limits - the first transgression should have a driver parked - not 'exclude the lap time' and if you do it two more times you get a time penalty. BS
When you really exceed TRACK LIMITS - bad things happen.

That was a sleeper. Even with DRS there isn't much passing. I've never like DRS so maybe it's a good time to get rid of it. If Lewis wasn't fit or well enough for the race then maybe he should've stepped aside for Russell again. It not like Lewis had anything to lose unless he's afraid for his seat or MB will realize anyone can win in the Merc and want to pay him less.

This is just a bad track for passing in general. It regularly produces boring races.
