Will this be fixed before the race next weekend?

The Halo certainly didn't help Stroll's ability to exit the car with it being upside down. Please, Stroll got out just fine. He got out - just fine is open to conjecture.

When did the clock start on the 10 seconds - car appeared to be shiny side down for much longer than 10 seconds before Stroll was seen starting to crawl out.

It's on the web. They're leaving the concrete barriers in place for next weekend

From when he began to extricate himself. First thing he does is remove the steering wheel. Is the ten seconds the criteria with the car upside down or right side up? The regulation and yearly pre-season tests dictate a driver must be able to extract in 5 seconds right side up or upside down. I read somewhere that some drivers actually felt it was easily to extract from the upside down position. Remove the wheel, unclip the belts and they fell right out. Stroll wasn't in hurry so he took his time, talked to the team on the radio, etc. It is still way easier getting through the halo than getting out of an overturned sportscar or GT with the netting, belts and cooling hoses involved.

Got around to watching to the whole race. Things that are not a storyline - the "greatness" of the Merc car. Bottas trying not to suck-ass into third place.
More cute puppies please. Less horror crashes.

It was impressive how it absorbed the energy (noting as it was here how the engine compartment had barely any excess energy and only a couple of tires went very far) but the problem to me is the splitting. What if he'd have gotten just halfway through? I don't think a barrier is doing its job if it is completely penetrated but what do I know.

I have been saying this all along. The barrier "failure" may very well have saved Grosjean's life.
