That is likely the cause. I block 'tracking' and will continue to do so. Oh well... Thanks for the tip! Blocking the tracking doesn't do jack. They track us by everything we do. Ya use a phone, they can track ya. Ya use a bank, they can track ya. Ya get a government check , they track ya. Ya use a credit card or a bank card, they track ya. Ya use electricity, they track ya. It goes on and on. The only way to avoid it is to go totally off the grid. And only use cash. If ya pay taxes or get a SS check, you're f+++ed as they can track ya. I'd say put the settings back to default. All the data they get on me is useless zeros and ones. It just fills up their servers with useless data. :-) Years before my dad even had a phone or computer he was on the internet because the phone company sells our phone numbers to anyone that wants them!! They used to sell every listed number on cd's for $8US per cd. It was easy to see the unlisted numbers because it skipped a number here and there!! They probably sell them digitally now, who wants to import all that stuff when you can just open the file? We've been tracked for a very long time and unless the US enacts some Privacy Laws like Europe has it won't stop. The US Government that tracks us doesn't have to follow those same Laws though so that won't change.

Unless you are using/paying for a Virtual Private Network (VPN) service your internet provider can see everywhere you go and even some of the ads being sent you and by law can sell that data to anyone they wish without your permission.

Twitter is often the only timely way news is released.

In the 90ies everyone was worried about Microsoft. In the last 10 to 15 years it's been Google and Amazon. Ten years from now it'll be Elon Musk or whoever. I remember the joke. We are Microsoft. You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.

Twitter is often the only timely way news is released. However, Twitter and other 'Social Media' platforms are cesspools of inaccurate, and downright false information.

So is every form of media/news. Just like buyer beware with used car shopping it is up to the consumer to seek out reputable twitter sources.

The browser Opera has a check box to turn on VPN, it's free and built in, and you can even pick your Country where you want the browser to think you are, handy for some things but trying to read Yahoo in Serbian sucks unless you know Serbian!!!

Due to the jerkoffs who use them. I have Facebook to stay in touch with old west coast friends. Not for anything else. I have a twitter account but have posted two tweets, I think, one to Bob Varsha to verify it was him in a photo I saw online - this one below (that's him in the left background in the gray jacket). He was very gracious and responded in the affirmative. Other than that, I have no use for social media. Anyone who can be swayed politically by Facebook posts needs to get their head examined.

And THAT'S what I miss about Varsha and his F1 commentating...the storeis he had from being there done that for years!! Sure Crofty and crew have all been there but they don't give any of the 'little place at the bottom of the hill selling the best model cars ever' or the 'mom and pop place selling the best pastries on the way to the track every one in the know stops at' or even saying that the 'Battle of the Bulge was fought right here in the Ardennes Forest' when they race at Spa stuff.

Speaking of Bob Varsha ... he's a class act ... Varsha ready for commentary returnFormula 1, IndyCar, and sports car broadcaster Bob Varsha says he’s ready for a full-time return to the commentary booth. Locked in a battle against prostate cancer since the start of the year, the veteran of NBC, ESPN, and Fox Sports has cleared a number of important recovery hurdles, which led to the New Yorker’s recent adventure in calling more than a dozen races at the SCCA National Runoffs. “I’m more than ready, I’m anxious to get going again, and work is a huge tonic I’ve discovered,”Varsha told RACER. “Being idle for this long period of time – and I’m in good company because we all know the coronavirus has left a lot of my colleagues idle for most of the year, fortunately, they’ve been able to get back to work – now I’m at a place in my journey where I’m ready as well. racer.com/2020/10/22/varsha-ready-for-commentary-return/?fbclid=IwAR1YM028lTd1bUirhO5ypUhG14hlfVuX7d9rTKqbmHspFLQJwRoeo0qxuDo
