During Tesla's "Battery Day" event earlier this week, CEO Elon Musk dropped a bombshell: The reveal of a new Model S "Plaid" trim, complete with three electric motors, real aerodynamics, and a claimed 1100 horsepower. During the event, Musk claimed the Model S Plaid was able to lap Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca in 1:30.3. Now, thanks to this newly released in-cabin video of the lap, we get to see exactly what that looks like.
downforce: Bob Tasca had an engine block that had been sandblasted. This was deemed a modification and therefore illegal under NHRA rules.
