Girlfriend found her unicorn yesterday....four 12-packs of Angel Soft toilet paper at a Family Dollar store.🤣 She gave me one pack. She really does love me! Limit is 1 at every store anywhere near me. Never underestimate the entrepreneurial spirit in this country. A local restaurant has completely reorganized itself for takeout. Most likely through their restaurant supply chain, they are also offering some grocery food items. It is mostly meat and produce with a limited supply of other items including toilet paper for about a dollar a roll, limit of 6. I am assuming the supply of single roll by the case toilet paper is not being hoarded by restaurants so they can get all they need.

A restaurant in San Antonio completely transformed into a small grocer. I expect to see more of that going forward ...

Limit is 1 at every store anywhere near me. She told me no limit at this particular store which she said was odd. She was also the only one in the store at the time so she took advantage of it.

Girlfriend bought a used X-box and some games for it off Ebay today. I am thinking about getting an X-Box One. I've become intrigued by the racing sim rigs and doing some investigation on whether I might want to spend the money on that sort of thing.
Marcus Ericsson posted an interesting video on YouTube of his sim rig build in Indy with the help of Felix Rosenqvist. Pretty sure it was not cheap!

My son and I were in a GameStop mid-March, buying F1 2020 just as the Covid shit started in the U.S., and believe it or not, the clerk there said they were actually experiencing a run on, of all things, gaming platforms. Years ago I lucked into a nice racing Playseat with frame on craigslist for $50. Like this one: I don't think the guy realized what he had, as even now they go for $399. I got one of the cheaper force feedback wheel & pedal sets from Thrustmaster, & it actually works really well. He's actually gotten very good on Forza Horizons, the different F1 games, an Indy game, etc, even with all the driver aids turned off. He's been practicing to get his license, and the physical act of driving comes easy for him. I attribute that at least in part to the game and to starting the boys in recreational karting at an early age.

My father started me on minibikes when I was 6. Then I was driving the lawn mower regularly from about the age of 10. I also progressed from the minibike to full fledged motorcycles by the time I was 12. The day my permit arrived in the mail my father picked me up at school. (He had Wednesdays off). On the way we stopped in a parking lot and I did some 3 point turns and parallel parking practice. Got to the DMV and I passed no problem. This was the first time I was behind the wheel of a car. The act of throttle and brake control transfers very easily.

Get a robust stand for it. Thinking of running it through an X-box One and hooking up to my 65" 4K Sony XBR. Might have to use my home office chair ala like Bourdais did today in the iRace Indy Car race at virtual Barber Motorsports Park. I am looking at $2K maybe? I can build a rig with a proper seat later. Lot of money to spend right now. G/f said she thinks I need this to take my mind of this worldwide issue we are all dealing with. With Ohio close to canceling summer, she thinks I need something like this and thinks I would have fun with it. She said if I don't get it, she will probably get it for my birthday in November. Maybe I should wait! 🤣 Today our first game arrived for the used X-box she got on Ebay (which hasn't shown up yet), NCAA College Football 2005. Also have Forza and a couple of others on their way.

I like Maker's 46 for premium and 1783 for less expensive bourbons.

I am out of Whisky and my Kentucky Bourbon is about to run out. Recommend a brand. I can't drink regular Bourbon or Whikey straight so I drink Ol' Smokey Salted Caramel flavored stuff, it's about $20US a bottle. I do have to limit the number of days per week I drink it though as it goes down FAR too easily!!!

I don't ask that guy for recommendations any more, I went to another liquor store near me and that guy said 2 kinds were selling out everytime he got them in stock so I got both a Rye and a regular Bourbon, about $30 each, and both my sons liked them. I've run out of Christmas present ideas for the one that's a PHD so I buy him little things and some alcohol, the other one enjoys it too.
