Damn. Good race reporter, and nice guy too. Met him at IMSA in San Antonio 1990. He and his camera guy did a piece on the tunnels on the HF90 in the paddock. Very gracious.

Bob always comes across as more of a reporter than the hype man types we've been stuck with post SPEED. I miss his more genuine delivery, hope he pulls through.

Bob said some quirky things but he was FAR FAR better than the idiots they have now, I always loved his personal experiences of going to the races FOR YEARS and talking about the little store on the corner that sold this or that and how it's sad that's gone now. He also put the Belgium race into perspective for me when he said it's set in the Ardienne Forrest where a major Battle of WWII was fought and how they have to be careful when doing expansion as they find unexploded ordinance everywhere. Bob also gave unbiased race comments, of course he had his facorites, for drivers or cars that were doing well or going backwards with equal passion no matter who they were, something the current group fails to do.

I miss The Three Amigos.
