Pedrosa: Things are better, but I still don't have what I want: Dani ahead of the rest in #Brno: "I managed to be fast. Why? As always, it is the combination of several elements together" "Today we could keep a good pace in FP2 on hard tyres and also when we fit a soft rear.Itwas important because we normally struggle with the soft while today we had a good feeling. That said, we’ll keep our feet on the ground as not everyoneput the soft tyre on"

2018 Brno Moto2 FP3 Result: Bagnaia Leads SKY Takeover Submitted by Zara Daniela on Sat, 2018-08-04 09:53
The final practice session for the intermediate class started under bright sunshine and the championship leader was the first to shine as he claimed top position on the timesheets on lap four and held on to it to the checkered flag. Pecco Bagnaia led teammate Luca Marini by less than a tenth of a second, a more significant three-tenth gap keeping Alex Marquez at bay.
A fairly impressive Iker Lecuona picked up the mantle for his team after Sam Lowes joined the gravel trap and the Spaniard finished the session fourth, only half a tenth from the top three positions. Marcel Schrotter could not make it a hat-trick after dominating Friday and dropped back to fifth, nearly half a second slower than Bagnaia. Joan Mir was close behind, with Miguel Oliveira making a significant step to join the top seven.
Romano Fenati, Remy Gardner and Andrea Locatelli completed the top ten, with Mattia Pasini and Lorenzo Baldassarri missing out by less than a tenth of a second but over seven tenths down on the leader. With the top 16 riders covered by one second, the final men to join that list were Fabio Quartararo, Lowes and Jorge Navarro – all with a bit of work on their hands come quali.

2018 Brno MotoGP FP3 Result: Rossi Makes A Late Dramatic Entrance Submitted by Zara Daniela on Sat, 2018-08-04 09:03
The session started with an assault on the timesheets as the premier class line-up was enjoying the more sensible conditions temperature-wise. After a low key Friday, Marc Marquez finally put in new rubber to shoot to the top of the timesheets as soon as the session started and went unchallenged until Danilo Petrucci anticipated the final shootout on a soft rear to grab the lead in the final ten minutes, while most rivals were still finishing their race runs.
The final five minutes really kickstarted the battle for those precious Q2 tickets and Jorge Lorenzo showed his cards first to lead Petrucci. The Italian struck back at the very last minute to retake the lead and it looked like a straight battle between the two Ducati men until Valentino Rossi, finding himself in a dangerous 11th position, fired in the fastest time of the weekend on his very last lap. The Yamaha veteran did not exactly shine on race pace but ultimately led compatriot Petrucci by eighth hundredths of a second, with Lorenzo another six hundredths back. The Spaniard seemed to have the best pace out of the three but the reigning world champion’s times were more eye-catching.
After a couple of good runs on the medium rear and a time attack on the soft, Marquez finished top Honda, two tenths back on his lead rival, with Andrea Iannone close behind after a late charge. Dani Pedrosa bided his time in improving his Friday benchmark but eventually saved sixth position, one tenth ahead of fellow Honda rider Cal Crutchlow. The Brit might have improved his position had he not visited the gravel trap at turn three with two minutes left on the clock.
Johann Zarco ended up eighth and in the company of Tito Rabat. The final top ten position went to Andrea Dovizioso, who managed to grab onto that final Q2 ticket by the skin of his teeth at the very last moment. The Italian’s joy was Maverick Viñales’ misery as the Spaniard got pushed to 11th position and into Q1, together with the likes of Aleix Espargaro, Jack Miller, Alvaro Bautista and Alex Rins.

2018 Brno MotoGP FP4 Result: Marquez Drops The Poker Face Submitted by Zara Daniela on Sat, 2018-08-04 12:20
The final practice session for the premier class started off pretty anti-climactic as riders were back out on hard tyres – with the occasional medium rear if you’re the reigning world champion or a confusing soft if you’re Yamaha – and appeared to register similar pace. That all changed in the final half of the session, when a certain Marquez decided to show his hand a bit more.
Alex Rins was more of a placeholder at the top of the timesheets until Marquez swapped to a brand new hard rear and cleared the field by six tenths of a second. The Repsol man truly showed up to the party with a set of low 1:56s that went pretty much unrivalled. Another Suzuki attempted to challenge the leader but Andrea Iannone only shaved off a tenth of that gap, with another half second left. Nonetheless, the Italian went on to post impressive times on fairly old tyres, only a couple of tenths slower than Marquez’s rhythm. Teammate Rins settled for third after his early benchmark.
Despite the many contenders Ducati put forward throughout the weekend, Jack Miller was the top one come Saturday afternoon, the Pramac man finishing fourth. Alvaro Bautista made a really late lunge from 18th position to fifth in the very last minutes, while Dani Pedrosa was a subdued and quietly confident sixth place.
Having stated on some boring old hards, Valentino Rossi uncharacteristically swapped to a soft rear tyre and even when the rubber was well worn, the Italian was showing respectable pace. Aided by one of those laps, Rossi climbed into seventh spot, eighth tenths down on Marquez. Danilo Petrucci finished ninth but could not run through his full program as his Ducati coughed some smoke at the end of the main straight and gave up just before the checkered flag came out. Cal Crutchlow finished ninth, nine tenths off the leader, while Andrea Dovizioso did not look quite as impressive as Friday on his hard tyres, struggling to drop his pace under the 1:57 mark.
Takaaki Nakagami made a late move to separate the two factory Ducatis on the timesheets so Jorge Lorenzo settled for 12th and more worryingly, over a second slower than the leader. Still, he did better than Johann Zarco in 15th and Maverick Viñales in 17th - while sporting the same rear soft as his teammate.
