NASCAR Cup Series teams will compete with a simplified diffuser this season as part of a short track and road course rules package announced on Wednesday. The updates follow the two-day test at Phoenix Raceway in early December. NASCAR has been experimenting with different packages on short tracks and road courses in hopes of producing better racing. Details of the updates to the rule book are as follows: 2023 short track/road course splitter stuffers No engine panel strakes 3-inch spoiler Simplified diffuser Simplified diffuser strakes

IMO doesn't resolve the issue with mechanical grip caused by 14.5 in wide tires on all four corners. This is just a band-aid, like all previous changes.

Goodyear isn't going to change the tire they have dropped millions of dollars on and BBS isn't going to change the wheels. Everyone screaming at the tops of mountains that HP is the solution. It is part of the solution.

It is part of the solution. I don’t see it either. That’s a BIG investment for a corporation to make, at a time where they aren’t getting the exposure from NASCAR that they were.

I heard a few months ago that they had to sell off 2 Billion in assets. I don't care if your company is doing good, that isn't a good thing.

So the NASCARs were using brake cooling fans (I assume on the front wheels only) at Richmond tonight. Are they still using iron brakes? Seems like they might use carbon or ceramic brakes on short tracks (including Martinsville next week and North Wilkesboro) and maybe road courses as well, instead of the cooling fans.
