Two of the four factory Porsche 911s in the GT-Pro category will run retro color schemes at Le Mans for the race week and presumably the test weekend. One recalls the Rothmans 956/962 colors and the other the 1971 Pink Pig:

One way or another I'm disappointed by the performance of Aston Martin today. I caught a peek at live timing with 30 minutes left and they were still 5 seconds off the pace. If it's sandbagging, it's no better than the stunt Ford pulled two years ago. If it's legitimate lack of pace then BoP is wildly off or the car is so terrible it can't be made competitive.

Will there still be a BoP adjustment before the race? There might be, and there was a BoP between the test and the race in 2016 that helped give Ford a massive edge.

Velocity is supposed to air the whole race in the US if you have it available.

Velocity is supposed to air the whole race in the US if you have it available. If I upgrade my cable service to HD and get a HD set top box - Velocity is 'available' I am already paying $110 a month for cable.

tvracer.com has all of this on their schedules: The entire World Endurance Championship will be broadcast on Velocity and MotorTrend.com. Notably, the entire 24 Hours of Le Mans and the new 1000 Miles of Sebring will be broadcast on a single television channel: Velocity. Practice and qualifying for Le Mans will be on MotorTrend.com or the Motor Trend app. Unfortunately for fans of the American-market broadcast team, Velocity and MotorTrend.com won’t have their own dedicated staff of pit lane reporters and commentators, Racer notes. Instead, they’re rebroadcasting the feed from Eurosport, including Eurosport’s full commentary. Perhaps the best part of this news, however, is the soon-to-be Motor Trend channels are focused on cars, just as the much-missed Speed network used to be. Therefore, there’s a far smaller chance that a car channel would push Le Mans off TV to run prerecorded studio shows and golf highlights in its spot. Velocity/Trend announced the entire broadcast schedule for the “superseason” today, which is this odd one and a half year season coming up as the WEC transitions into a calendar that ends with Le Mans and starts in the summer. UPDATE [4/19]: Unfortunately, this isn’t as much of an upgrade as initially thought for those of us used to streaming races through the WEC’s own web page and app. A WEC representative confirmed that live sessions on the WEC’s own live streaming service would be geoblocked in the United States as part of this new television and streaming package.
So, in order to watch the whole season, fans in the United States will need to have cable—as Le Mans is only shown on Velocity—as well as the Motor Trend app. This is a massive downgrade from being able to just go to one website and stream the entire season, and quite frankly, inexcusable in light of F1 being able to develop their own in-house stream without geoblocking the U.S. when ESPN is broadcasting the same sessions.
UPDATE [4/24]: The WEC confirmed today that the geoblock will extend to Canada (exception: Québec), as they are also served by Velocity. jalopnik.com/all-24-hours-of-le-mans-will-be-on-only-one-channel-aga-1825368567

Maybe you should switch over Verizon FIOS and buy a package of phone, internet and HD cable for less than you are paying now. Verizon doesn't have FIOS in my area - they are supposed to tell me when when it will be available to my address - I have been waiting 10 years.

Le Mans isn't being shown on Motortrend.com? Well, that's it for me, since Velocity isn't offered on any tier for my cable company.

Blame the ACO for hacking together a late TV deal after Fox dropped yet another motorsports series off their schedule. Next year they'll only have NASCAR, NHRA and Formula E.
