Saw it Sunday in IMAX. Good film, historically semi-accurate. The film really is the Ford v Shelby or the Ken Miles story more than Ford v Ferrari. Focused on Miles, who has never received the credit he deserved as the primary tester of the GT40, and who was robbed of the victory in the 1966 24 Hours of LeMans. Unfortunately ends with Miles' death at Riverside testing the new Mark IV for the next season. Pays little notice to Phil Remington as the real engineering genius behind the car's ultimate success, but shows his right-hand-man status to Shelby. Matt Damon is a passable Shelby. All in all, worth the money to see in the theater.
For those looking for a more historically accurate film about that time and matter, see 'The 24 Hour War' available on Netflix and Amazon Prime. Very historically accurate, really sings Phil Remington's praises (although I must admit my bias having worked with Rem at All American Racers) and shows the history through the Mark IV which won in 1967 with Dan Gurney and A J Foyt doing the driving
Also, today, a new film about Shelby comes out, produced and directed by the guy that did The 24 Hour War.
