Gawd we need more ovals. ' No roadie lights up the forum and the interweb quite like a roundy round. I'm not even taking sides for awhile, sometimes it's just fun seeing the forum light up like the good ole days. More flat ovals on cool nights please.

Newgarden STFU. I liked you a lot better when you drove for Sarah and Ed. I can see what he means, but if Santino is loose, then the car is going to go where it wants. Look at Bourdais. He couldn't tell what happened either. What irks me, is Newgarden made a rookie mistake on the last lap at M-O. So, I guess race car drivers have short memories.

I will say this about Sato, he makes Graham Rahal look pretty bad. I think he is being groomed to move into the ownership/management side of things. I really don't see the same focus behind the wheel as I do the Penske guys.

I dont think Ferrucci did anything wrong, but Newgarden is different this year. I think he's kind of Penske snobbish now, braces and all.

I will say this about Sato, he makes Graham Rahal look pretty bad. Graham imo, has never really been that good. I think he looked good on the old days because of the old car and weaker fields. Maybe I'm wrong, but he's never seemed like a racer to me. Never fired up about much.

He appears to have reached his peak from 2015 to 2017 which, incidentally, was the era of that Dallara IR15 aero kit. High downforce, foot to the floor, flatout driving. This current aero kit, imo, has exposed him as a pretty mediocre driver. Can't seem to figure it out. Struggles a lot more than Sato, who, let's be honest, only needs a gas pedal to go. Nothing phases that guy.

There is no legitimate reason why Gateway should not be the final race of the season. I know it’s not high class enough for some of the car owners but I’ll go on record now saying Laguna Seca will not come close to the action and excitement this race provided.

During the race, PT said that Sato ran over all of his pit equipment leaving the pits after a stop. Never heard anymore of it. Did it not happen or was race control taking a nap? Running over pit equipment only results in a fine now?

Only thing that made Laguna Seca entertaining was watching Zanardi going off roading at the Corkscrew to overtake Bryan Herta on the final lap.

Well that was weird. You know, you had all these fast runners up front for 3/4s+ of the race and then all the sudden, because of the timing of a wreck, the top finishers are from the back of the field. And half the field was running a fuel milage race. Hmmm...Mandatory pit stops anyone?

I will say this about Sato, he makes Graham Rahal look pretty bad. That's pretty much every teammate he's had. Even Kimball when they were on the Ganassi B team.

Man the Euros lost someone really talented in Ferrucci. Great charisma and happy all of the time. I would have been pissed if I ran that well, got blocked and finished 4th. I think Ferrucci has done a lot of growing up in the past year - I suspect the shitstorm he appeared to create last year was real, however, it gave him the opportunity to find out that his actions have consequences (and I also suspect he had not found that out with his upbringing). He learned. In the F1 world I see parallels with Verstappen. Both are talents we are seeing grow up before our eyes.

At Ganassi, Frappo openly complained about the lack of information sharing between him and Dixon/Franchitti ("we are teammates, teammates help each other"). I think it was Dixon who said that wasn't true. He said they shared some information but that Frappo wanted to see their entire book. Dixon said there are some things you have to figure out on your own....part of competing. I remember one of those Indy Car 60s featuring Kimball in which Frappo would not open up and discuss setups with CK during a debrief. Kimball and his crew sort of rolled their eyes at him. I think the reason Chip jacked the price up on his seat for the 2013 season was to get him to move on which Frappo did.

They also have dads who are highly involved in their careers, maybe too involved and that has rubbed some the wrong way at times. However, I have not seen or heard much out of Ferrucci's dad this season so maybe he is taking a back seat and hanging low.

BTW, anyone see Ferrucci with his hand over his heart during the singing of the national anthem? Didn't see some of the other American drivers do that which is a little disappointing to me.

I missed the beginning of the race, but ever since Indy I've slowly become a fan of his. The last two weekends have sold me. He, Herta, Rossi, and maybe Felix in a year or two more, might return IndyCar to the top, or at least on par with NASCAR. Ferrucci is the real deal.

Let him stay in DCR for now, because I still believe that Coyne can have him in the long run. But Andretti Autosport might have something in mind. He could become a Plan D in the future. "Cobra Kai" has become the greatest gains that Indy Car obtained since Rossi. Coyne lost out on Rossi back in 2015 when an F2 team gave him a chance. So Dale was not willing to repeat history itself. Thank you Haas, and thank you Trident. And I am willing to see "Cobra Kai" to go head to head with the "Dutch Wunderkind" in the future - in F1.
