03/10/2019 LeMans.org 24 HOURS OF LE MANS – CORVETTE RACING UNVEILS THE NEW C8.R Corvette Racing has unveiled the new C8.R it will be fielding for the first time at next year’s 24 Hours of Daytona as part of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The C8.R was based on the new Corvette Stingray presented back in July and will be racing in LMGTE Pro under the Corvette Racing banner at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in addition to the IMSA competition. The mid-engine C8 is a break from the front engine design of its predecessors. The #4 sports a silver livery inspired by Corvettes of the past, the 1973 Aerovette and the 1959 Stingray Racer. Meanwhile, the yellow hues of the #3 sister car are in keeping with Corvette tradition, the hints of silver a nod to the glittering success of the GTLMs in the past two decades. The new GT will line up on the grid of the 24 Hours of Daytona on 25–26 January 2020 for its maiden race. Corvette Racing also aims to be at the 24 Hours of Le Mans on 13–14 June 2020.

Autosport Web 2019.12.27 20:10 Purchased on the phone of the Bulgari founder before the race decision. Behind the "Kiwamono" Corvette C7 GT3-R introduction / GT300 machine focus extra A super GT300 class in 2019 where 29 teams from 14 models have competed. During the season, I picked up one of them and performed a series of projects called "GT300 Machine Focus" where I asked drivers and stakeholders about the character and charm of the machine. This time, as an extra, we will take up the “Caraway (Japanese Callaway) C7 GT3-R” that participated in the “auto sport web Sprint Cup”, a joint race of the Super GT × DTM special exchange game. I did not usually participate in the Super GT, and in the race history in Japan, only the Suzuka 10-hour endurance race and the GT3 car with a very high degree of rarity, chose American sports to Shinji Takei who took the steering as a team representative and driver. I asked why and why. ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ The new generation Corvette "C8", which will be unveiled in North America in July 2019 and will be unveiled in Japan at the Tokyo Auto Salon in January 2020, has a tradition as a midship model that separates from its history and tradition The last generation of FR layout corvette is the current "C7". The GT3 version, the Callaway C7 GT3-R, is designed and manufactured by the prestigious Callaway Competition based in Germany. The C7 GT3-R, which made its debut at the German ADAC GT Masters in 2016, replacing the previous Corvette Z06.R GT3, won the double championship in 2017. This is the latest GT3 model that participated in works in 2018 in the form of a return to the PWC Pirelli World Challenge in North America, and started customer delivery in the same year. Callaway C7 GT3-R that competed in "auto sport web Sprint Cup" as BH AUCTION CORVETTE GT3 The Caraway C7 GT3-R is powered by a 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated 90-degree V8 OHV engine at the front The machine is a typical sports car style with a long nose short deck, a body with a 2713 mm wheelbase, a traditional LS series called "small block" in the home country, a 6.2 liter naturally aspirated 90 degree V type 8 cylinder The model uses an OHV engine. Even mass-produced models have the same characteristics as super sports as a composite body shell of carbon and aluminum, and the GT3 official weight that inherited its skeleton is 1240 kg. Except for the engine, the body configuration has been greatly renewed from the previous C6, and the vehicle characteristics are said to be mild and easy to handle. This machine has participated in the Suzuka 10 Hours Endurance Race from Bingo Sports led by Shinji Takei for the second consecutive year. Driven by Takei and Ukyo Sasahara in the “auto sport web Sprint Cup”, a joint race of the Super GT × DTM special exchange event held at Fuji Speedway in November. Driver Takei has twice won the PCCJ Porsche Carrera Cup Japan Gentleman class, and in 2017 he won the overall championship. He is also the CEO of "BINGO SPORT", a specialty store for luxury and rare editions, and a business person who runs "BH AUCTION" in collaboration with Tokyo Auto Salon and Suzuka Circuit. As a businessman, he handled a wide range of high-end sports cars from around the world, and as a racing driver, had experience in Porsche cup cars, but chose the Chevrolet Corvette, the only user in Japan, to participate in the Suzuka 10 Hours. When he asked about the circumstances, he said, "At first I never thought of buying a GT3 machine myself and riding it, but in the future I thought that ...." ■ The relationship with the Callaway Competition connected by Bulgari "This packaging was decided immediately on the spot"

The #3 Corvette has a gray on yellow paint scheme, the #4 has a yellow on gray. The photographers are having trouble getting good night shots because the new headlights are so bright.

I didn't like the idea of the new car and engine configuration. But then I realized, "When in Rome..."

I didn't like the idea of the new car and engine configuration. But then I realized, "When in Rome..." Yeah, they finally realized that real race cars have mid-engines. If you're gonna race sports cars, a front engine is too big a handicap.
