Did anyone receive their usual email from PFRL with the results today? I did not, and had to log in and look up my teams to see what happened.

Belated congrats to Lorrie Jen for the MM1 win and topping the site in the Constructors Championship in Australia (as well as being in the top 3 after Bahrain)! I had a pretty good weekend -- doing way better than usual for the first couple races. I'm sitting much higher in the World Championship and Constructors than usual this early on. I'll likely throw a lot of it away next race (for reasons that I might explain in the other thread, but should be evident for all you PFRL veterans). Then again, looking at the component options and where they stand, perhaps not. Three more top 20 finishes means 75 bonus points for the world ranking that won't expire for 4 years. Not world-beating, but it's a start. Edit: Also, I am somehow in P1 of the Expert Tipping game. Don't look for my picks to show up on the front page for a while, though; I always submit them very late

Ran out of time to do a strategy post, but in short, I went for pretty much all the budget, same as in previous years.
It's funny that without an obvious engine choice for such a strategy, the Merc factory engine actually fits very well (possibility of +1 cost with a 1-2 finish, plus it's been a good pick for scoring points, especially in conjunction with ERS).

This is a really important race. DNFs go against you it snowballs for the rest of the season sometimes. Agree about the Merc engine, I didn't use it in the majority of my builds, but if the race is horrible you win both ways with it as you say.

Hey, can we stop the F1 season now? I'm sure Lorrie Jen wouldn't mind (as far as this game goes, anyway). (I wouldn't mind either, of course...)

Congrats to jobber for a crushing 147 race points in the overall competition that smashed all-comers by 12.

Big congratulations to The Rufus Roadster 9000 and Lorrie Jen. Took the lead early and never looked back. I got into striking distance late but could catch you.

Congrats to LorrieJen for a dominant performance in winning both championships in the MM league this season! Best wishes for you and Allrace in next year's Champions Racing League! And also in the Cup, along with Carlo and Kat (if you change your mind).
I hit too big of a dry spell, and the league overall was too good, for me to be much of a factor this time around. However, my usual greedy budget strategies worked out a little better for my non-MM teams. The last few races were way better than expected; I went from wondering if I'd get back into the CRL at all to qualifying four times over and earning some snazzy achievement badges.
I was extremely lucky against Kat (and the rest of that ridiculously stacked group) in the semifinals of the Eliminator -- I really thought that I'd lost it after qualifying. And in the Final, I got my picks in at the last second and made a bad attack choice...but it ended up not mattering, as having the only team with Max proved to be decisive.
Guess I'll be back in PFRL in 2020 to defend some things. I hope to see you there, too!
