Well service resumed to normal in Japan. I drank sake.
I guess we now go to China. Let's go Ferrari.
Sainz is doing way too well. DR might need to go out to pasture.
Any other thoughts? Does Williams even have a chassis for this race?
Discuss everything!!!!

Why was Stroll SOOOO surprised at the speed of his car? Doesn't he put his foot to the floor in that car?
Leclerc again got screwed on the pit stop strategy, the same thing happened to him in the past I believe.
And WHY is Russell the President of the F! Drivers Assoc if HE causes sooo many rules infractions.
Williams needs to be fined for their lack of ability to support both cars adequately, they are a disgrace to all of F1.

To sum up the state of F1 it's a Sprint weekend. I'm expecting Red Bull to be marvelous. Will Alpine bring a spare truck to the race?

Maybe they should go the NASCAR Covid schedule - unload the cars Sunday morning and race Sunday afternoon.

Why is it the series responsibility to make sure the teams have enough time to get their car setup right?

Since it's two weeks from now, they will probably ship the damaged tub back to England for repair, and have returned to China. They've already did this for Japan, right?

Missing.........I was talking Alpine not Williams. Everybody dings Williams who got caught by 2 bad accidents but Alpine is a full blown factory works team with better resources who hasn't produced a spare chassis.

There's more to it at Alpine, the chassis had to be reinforced after failing the crash test and is the main reason the car is overweight. Alpine has to essentially redesign the whole tub (then have it re-tested) or live with the compromised design for the rest of the year. If they go the second route they would have to produce 3 tubs instead of just an extra 1.

Because they are trying to sell the team and make minimal investment.

Hi. I'm an idiot. I spent all week thinking the Chinese GP was THIS weekend. Ugh. The only reason I didn't is because I had noted a few weeks ago that this race will be when we are camping. And THAT I know is next weekend, but I had to think about it mid-week!

There's clips on you tube. of Bottas riding the circuit today. On a motorbike. In the rain. It looks like it's all new pavement.

They do this shit on our residential streets here in Austin and it only lasts a couple of years even with that limited amount of slow-speed traffic. Imagine what it it'll do on a racetrack. Looks like Shanghai channeled their inner Bobby Epstein and found a new, different way to cheap out on the track surface. The story behind Shanghai's 'painted' F1 track surprise:If it's as durable as the street surface in front of my house that's constantly littered with loose, tiny rocks that have worn off, then yeah, the track will wear away and grip levels will vary during the weekend. Not as bad as COTA's varying grip levels throughout the track, I'm guessing, but probably still significant. But as Kimi says, it's the same for everyone, so wewillsee.
