David Emmett Long Lap penalty for Luca Marini for that Turn 1 incident. His first penalty, so a relatively lenient penalty.

Moto3™ title race blown wide open after dominant Masia win Just one point separates the top three after the Spaniard stamped his authority on the Indian GP The gauntlet has been thrown as the heat has been turned to the maximum in the 2023 Moto3™ title battle. After a dominant display from Jaume Masia (Leopard Racing) at the IndianOil Grand Prix of India, the Spaniard is now equal on points with his title rival Daniel Holgado (Red Bull KTM Tech3) with both riders sat at the top of the pile with 174 points. Despite being beaten to 2nd place by Kaito Toba (SIC58 Squadra Corse) - who took his first podium since 2022 – Ayumu Sasaki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) sits just one point behind the Spanish duo as he took 3rd place in a dramatic last-lap scrap. Lights out in India Jaume Masia got the perfect start from pole position as the Spaniard took the holeshot down into Turn 1. The Spaniard had Ayumu Sasaki all over his rear wheel as the chasing pack scrapped it out behind. Masia put the hammer down right from the off as the Leopard man began to stretch out the field in the opening stages. Sasaki wasn't letting Masia out of his sights however as the Japanese rider latched himself onto the Leopard machine to pull away from the chasing pack This left an enthralling battle for third as a group of riders battled it and swapped paintwork for the final rostrum honours. David Alonso (GASGAS Aspar Team), Kaito Toba, Collin Veijer (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP), Diogo Moreira (MT Helmets MSI), and Daniel Holgado (Red Bull KTM Ajo) were all in the mix until Veijer found an extra gear and really began to motor on. With the leading duo over two seconds clear out the front, Veijer began his escape from the chasing pack as Kaito Toba followed pursuit, making it a two-rider battle for the third with the laps ticking away. Masia's relentless pace proved too much for Sasaki in the end as the Spaniard stretched out a 2.5s lead over the Japanese rider with 4 laps remaining. Masia then went on to take a commanding victory as he remained untouched at the front of the race, stamping his authority on the field by 5.4s. Gloves off in the podium fight With the race win no longer on the cards, Sasaki then began to fall into the clutches of Collin Veijer as his pace very suddenly dropped off the boil. Toba quickly made his presence known with 3 laps remaining as he pushed his way past Veijer to slot himself in between the two Husqvarna machines. Toba's sights were now set on Sasaki as 2nd place was up for grabs. Toba made a move on his compatriot but it didn't last long as Sasaki bit straight back. Toba now had a track limits warning as they headed onto the final lap. The gloves were off as the battle for P2 was well and truly on. The Trio swapped and changed positions as the lap went on until it hit boiling point in the final sector as Sasaki took a big dive up the inside of his teammate as the two collided and the Dutchman went down and out of the race. Toba capitalised on the mayhem and got the better of Sasaki on the final lap with the SIC58 rider taking his first podium of the season taking 2nd place ahead of his compatriot. Daniel Holgado picked up the pieces to win the battle for 4th place after climbing his way up from 19th on the grid. The title contender got the better of David Alonso with David Muñoz (BOE Motorsports) getting the better of Riccardo Rossi (SIC58 Squadra Corse) for P6.

Acosta dominant in action-packed Indian GP The Spaniard took a statement win in India despite Arbolino's return to form Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo) made his intentions clear in the title fight as he put in an inch-perfect performance to take victory at the IndianOil Grand Prix of India. The Spaniard controlled the race perfectly as he cleared off at the front and left his title rival Tony Arbolino (Elf MarcVDS Racing Team) to pick up the pieces in P2 – the Italian took his first podium since the German GP. Joe Roberts (Italtrans Racing Team) was embroiled in an epic last-lap scrap with Sergio Garcia (Pons Wegow Los40) as the American also made a return to the Moto2™ rostrum. As the race got underway it was all-drama into Turn 1 with big moves being made. It all got a bit heated when paths crossed between a number of riders and a big pile-up saw the red flags come out. @somkiat35, @jeremyalcoba, Vietti @24marcosramirez and Hada are the riders involved and they are all conscious. The race will be shortened to a 12-lap distance, with original grid positions and quick re-start procedure The track was cleared and the race was back underway – and what a treat it gave us! It was all action on lap 1 as Alonso Lopez (GT Trevisan SpeedUp) fired his way into Turn 1 to push Jake Dixon (Inde GASGAS Aspar Team) wide and pave the way for Sergio Garcia to take the lead. It all got very hectic as the elbows came out on lap 1. Acosta quickly pounced on Garcia, eager to hit the front as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Arbolino in 3rd was keen to get passed the Pons machine as well. A couple of exchanges eventually saw the Italian get the better of the rookie. It was too little too late for the title contender however as his rival had already stretched out over a second lead to break away from the chasing pack. It was curtains early on for Aron Canet (PonsWegow Los40), Sam Lowes (Elf MarcVDS Racing Team), and Ai Ogura (IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia) who all went down at Turn 4. The Lopez-Dixon needle then went one step further as the Brit tried to make a move on the Spaniard. The door was then left slightly ajar on the corner exit which excited the Spaniard a little too much as he powered into the side of the Brit seeing both riders hit the deck. Meanwhile, Acosta had stretched out a two-second lead over Arbolino who also pulled away from Garcia in 3rd. The battle for 3rd was then well and truly on as Garcia had Joe Roberts for company. Acosta went on to strengthen his Championship charge as the KTM prodigy took a commanding victory by 3.543s. Arbolino brought home a lonely 2nd place. A positive return to form the Italian, but not enough to get the better of his title rival. The battle for third was on though as Roberts showed Garcia a wheel with 2 laps to go. The gloves were off as Roberts saw his opportunity and pounced on the Rookie ahead of the last lap. Last lap time and Garcia made his intentions known, shooting up the inside at Turn 1. The pair began to swap and change positions as the lap went on. Garcia then went wide which gifted the podium to the American, as he made an important return to the rostrum. Manuel Gonzalez (Correos Prepago Yamaha VR46 Mastercamp) got the better of Zonta van den Goorgbergh (Fieten Olie Racing GP) to round out the top five after the pair were swapping paintwork mid-race. The Dutchman took his first point-scoring finish in Moto2™ in P6.

Game on! Bagnaia goes down as Bezzecchi dominates ahead of Martin Pecco's championship bid took a massive knock as the champ was left picking his bike out of the gravel with his title rivals completing the top two Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) made a statement and a half as he destroyed the field at the IndianOil Grand Prix of India. The Italian put in an inch-perfect performance to take victory by a convincing 8.649s. Jorge Martin (Primac Pramac Racing) left absolutely everything he had out on the circuit as the Spaniard came under threat from Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) and Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™) to take 2nd place. The Pramac rider capitalised on Bagnaia hitting the deck as he clawed the Championship lead down to just 13 points. Martin also had his hands full with Fabio Quartararo after he fended off the 2021 World Champion in an epic last-lap scrap which saw the Frenchman return to the podium onboard his Yamaha M1. Blink and you miss it! The title trio led the way on lap one as Martin and Bagnaia got lightning starts to jump the polesitter Bezzecchi. Bagnaia came out the blocks guns blazing as he went full attack mode in to ensure Martin didn't pull away. Bagnaia went for a move on the brakes, Martin tried to resist but not many can out brake the world champ and get away with it. The Spaniard ran wide and dropped down to fourth place, gifting the champ the lead. Bezzecchi then saw his opportunity to make a move on the #1 with Martin dropping down to P3. Bezzecchi then put the hammer down as fastest laps came the way of the Italian, and he began to ask big questions of the Ducati top dog with the VR46 machine beginning to pull away. Bezzecchi was now one second up the road and Bagnaia had his hands full with Jorge Martin who was eager to push his way past the champ. Martin made a lunge with 17 laps to go sitting up the Italian with his sights locked on Bezzecchi who was now two seconds up the road. Marquez was trying all he could to put himself in the mix as he watched on from fourth place. The pace was a little too hot for the Repsol Honda man however as his front end folded at Turn 1. The Spaniard quickly rejoined and managed to place himself just outside the points, losing just 10 seconds on the lap he went down. Bagnaia goes down! Martin tried all he could to break the factory Ducati man but Bagnaia wasn't going anywhere. The Italian made his move with eight laps to go as he tried to break the Spaniard. The pressure got to Bagnaia shortly after though as a tiny mistake saw the front end wash out from underneath him as his title hopes took a massive blow with his rivals now sat 1st and 2nd in the race. This also promoted Fabio Quartararo to a rostrum position. The Yamaha man had been lurking in 4th for some time as the Ducati battle was unfolding ahead of him. Last lap drama We didn’t see much of the race leader Marco Bezzecchi as he brought home an incredible victory, showing the paddock exactly what he's made of and adding 25 points to his title bid. Martin really began to struggle in the closing stages with the Indian heat proving incredibly difficult to overcome onboard his 250hp beast. The Spaniard made a costly mistake with the chequered flag drawing closer. The 4th-placed Quartararo smelt blood as he slotted himself ahead of Martin. Quartararo then quickly came under attack from Martin as the Spaniard forced his way back past. The Frenchman did all he could to take 2nd but an impressive defensive performance coupled with Ducati power consolidated P2 for Jorge Martin. Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) was embroiled in an epic battle with Joan Mir (Repsol Honda Team) for 4th place. The South African got the better of the Spaniard after flying his way through the pack from 13th on the grid. Johann Zarco (Prima Pramac Racing) bagged P6 ahead of Franco Morbidelli (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™) and Maverick Viñales (Aprilia Racing). Marc Marquez made an incredible recovery to finish in 9th place, seven seconds up the road from Raul Fernandez (CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP™ Team) who rounded out the top 10.

Bagnaia in the danger zone! The title race is getting tastier and tastier as Martin closes in further on Bagnaia The Championship has been blown wide open following a drama-filled weekend at the IndianOil Grand Prix of India. A DNF from the Championship leader Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) coupled with stellar performances from his title rivals has drastically changed the Championship picture. Let's take a look at the state of play following MotoGP™'s first-ever visit to the Buddh International Circuit! Bagnaia went into the weekend with a 36-point lead over his nearest rival Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing), and with the Spaniard on an incredible run of form, the pressure was on in India. It was a damage limitation job for Pecco in the Tissot Sprint as he was unable to match the pace of Martin. Bagnaia brought home P2 behind the Spaniard with the gap shrinking down to 33. Bagnaia was then embroiled in a tantalising battle with the Pramac rider during the Grand Prix as they scrapped it out for 2nd place. A crash for the factory Ducati rider limited his title defence however as the Italian as he walked away from India with just 9 points scored. The difference at the top is now only 13 points after Spaniard went on to take 2nd place and 20 crucial points towards his title bid. Together with his Sprint victory, Martin scored higher than anyone else in India as he racked up 32 points ahead of the next round. Whilst fortune didn't favour Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) during the Tissot Sprint, the Italian is still very much in the Championship picture as well in 3rd. Bezzecchi took full points during the Indian Grand Prix as he took a dominant victory to score 25 points to the 5 he scored in the Sprint. The VR46 man edged himself closer to the leader Bagnaia, but lost ground to the 2nd placed Martin. "Bezz" now sits 31 points behind the Spaniard and 44 behind Bagnaia. Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) picked up 19 points from the weekend following 4th-place finishes in the Tissot and the Grand Prix. The South African remains 4th in the standings, 100 points adrift of the leader, and 56 from the 3rd-placed Bezzecchi. It was a nightmare weekend for Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing) who walked away from the weekend empty-handed. Whilst the Catalan did maintain 5th place in the standings, he's coming under a world of pressure from Johann Zarco (Prima Pramac Racing) who is just 3 points behind the Aprilia rider.
