Mat Oxley: Petrucci's speed before his stoppage was amazing, suggesting he has a real talent for rallies. A, he can ride a motorbike; B, his physical size is a positive, not a negative as it was in MotoGP; C, he's got a good brain, which is vital for good navigation skills etc Petrucci: “It was exciting until the technical issue because I was fighting for the top 5. I think I was 3rd and I was having lots of fun because the route was very fast! I caught 2 of the riders in front, pushing for 20-30 km on full throttle. It was cool to go up to 150kmh."
Mat Oxley: Dakar stage 3 on day 4 of 13 was won by Joaquim Rodrigues, riding a Hero 450, the first stage win by an Indian factory. Hero started out in 1984, associated with Honda but now it's its own company. Anyone know if their 450 is based on Honda's CRF450 Rally?

Danilo Petrucci penalized after the 4th stage for speeding: The rider from Terni was relegated to 15th place for having exceeded the limit by 30 km / h while crossing a village Danilo Petrucci 3rd of the 4th stage of the Dakar, one of the most difficult of the whole rally. Incredible. It remains out of classification following its fuse failure, but has undoubtedly just secured a handlebar for the Dakar 2023. Mat Oxley: Astonishing! Petrucci third in today's Stage 4, the biggest, toughest day's riding of the whole Dakar: 440 miles of riding, from Al Qaisumah to Riyadh, with a 290-mile special section. The blue marker denotes Dakar rookie, the yellow marker denotes Dakar legend! And top KTM too! Just listened to Petrucci on Insta explaining what happened to his bike on stage two - he switched from the rear fuel tank to the front fuel tank after 70 miles and a fuel-pump fuse blew. Went to call his mechanics but found his pouch containing phone, passport, money had gone

KTM release: Petrucci immediately felt comfortable with the high pace & tricky-to-navigate tracks at the beginning of the special. Finding himself racing in a group of 3, he was able to match the pace of his more experienced competitors & complete the grueling stage without issue

Petrucci, flying at 100Km / h over stones: "too dangerous, stage interrupted": "I started in front of everyone because yesterday I had won. The special was destroyed by the passage of cars and trucks. Another driver crashed in the same spot and yes a ... is broken Mat Oxley: Petrucci obviously had problems in today's stage 6 of the Dakar. He finished 40th, 12 mins behind stage winner Daniel Sanders. Sam Sunderland still leads overall. Today's riding was 134 miles to get to the start, then a 250-mile stage! Mental. Tomorrow is a rest day
