Easily the best race of Jimmie Johnson's IndyCar career. He out-paced about five cars on merit and looked competitive.

Observations....
1. Big win for Will Power, though this track has increasingly been the only place he can win on.
2. Palou engine failure (likely from leaning it out) was stunning. Totally opens the points up.
3. Heck of a day for Newgarden battling through the field. Ditto Rahal as usual.
4. Miserable day for Scott Dixon, in which he was ONE car from having Jimmie Johnson on his rear to finish the race.
5. If there's any move in the off season I feel is long overdue, it's getting Takuma Sato out of a car full time. The guy is how old, with how many starts, and drives like a complete arse.

At least Seabass didn't get run over this time. I sense a possible turning point here between NASCAR and Indycar. NASCAR is not only sharing the weekend with Indycar, but they're running the road course (Which some of the drivers are not happy about.).🤔 Now NASCAR is still the bigger deal, but I don't think they're the 800 pound gorilla they used to be.

The 800 pound gorilla eventually pounded the Turn 6 steel 'curb' into submission.
