Martin Raines Three poles in the first three Moto2 races of 2021 for Sam Lowes. The last British rider to start from pole at three successive races in any solo GP class? Barry Sheene in 1975, at the Dutch TT, Belgium and Sweden.
Rossi:”I’m worried. I’m starting from behind, and I don’t have a good pace.”: “Getting angry is useless. I just have to keep working. Bagnaia’s round annulled? Impossible for him to see the flag. They have to make the panels brighter.”
Zarco credits Italian and Spanish ‘schools’ for current French success: "I come from the Italian motorcycle school while Fabio is from the Spanish one. In France we need to give more access to these levels. Tomorrow I will try to stay with Quartararo"

Rins expecting tight race after first front row since Valencia 17.04.2021 | Christina Bulpett | BSN Saturday’s sunshine brought ideal conditions as Alex Rins navigated his Ecstar Suzuki around the rollercoaster Portimao circuit to secure his first MotoGP front row of 2021. Securing direct promotion to Q2 after a strong performance in the opening morning practice, Rins used FP4 for the usual race simulations and tyre choice programme before the hard work began in the afternoon. Starting the session with high, then low 1’39 pace, the Spaniard’s final flying lap positioned his GSX-RR into an excellent front row position, in third. A tense conclusion to qualifying, however, saw Ducati’s Pecco Bagnaia’s record-breaking lap cancelled due to a yellow flag infringement and the Suzuki rider was promoted to second - his best qualifying of the season so far and his first front row start since the European GP last November. “It’s always important to start as far up the grid as possible” Rins explained from the Portimao paddock, “but of course the front row is the best and I’m happy to be here in second place. I pushed really hard and I felt great on the bike, and this encourages me for tomorrow because I feel that I can get a good start and be with the front group from the start. The race won’t be easy, because Fabio and the others have a lot of pace, but I’m ready for it. “Today was a good day for us” he continued. “Already yesterday was good for us, always towards the top. I’m quite happy because we know how difficult the qualifying is for MotoGP, especially with our bike, and we get it, we get this first row! “Let’s see what we can arrive at tomorrow. I think it will be a very tight race, with a lot of riders in the front, with the Yamahas, Ducatis, let’s see. It will be not easy, but we will try to manage well, with the tyres and everything. The weekend’s fluctuating weather has created challenging conditions at times, with the riders unsure on Sunday’s outcome but the consensus on tyre usage looks to be in favour of the medium rear option. “Let’s see with the temperature,” the Spaniard explained, “at the moment I prefer the medium one. We started FP4 with the hardest compound on the rear. In the beginning I was feeling good, but then it was very difficult to improve. I was losing a lot of grip on the rear tyre so immediately, I changed to the medium one and I was feeling much better. I think if the temperature doesn’t change a lot for tomorrow, we will race with a medium” he concluded.

Bagnaia: “I know that when there is a rule; I do not agree with the way it is applied in the classification "
Bagnaia: "I respect the rules but there are exceptions: there was no danger": Pecco's pole canceled due to a yellow flag: "it was impossible for me to see it, today it would have been better to stay in the garage. I have great pace for the race, but I will not be able to manage the tires.
Morbidelli unhappy with situation, but sure VR46 will take care of his future: “I want to secure the best future for myself, both technically and emotionally. Right now I'm thinking about doing the best with what I have.
Marini: "The top ten in MotoGP are animals, tomorrow elbows wide": "The first laps will be very hard, but I have a good pace, I dream of the top ten. The crash was stupid, I have to understand when I can push and when not .
Miller: “Bagnaia’s penalty? When that happens, you can’t argue.”: “It’s happened to me a few times in the past. My arm is fine, but I left something on the table in qualifying. It’ll be important not to make mistakes in the race.”
Rins: "With today's pace it would be difficult to keep up with Quartararo": "I suffered a quick tire degradation, I don't know if the others have also accused it. I usually have a good start, I'll have to manage in the race".
Mir: "The yellow flags? It happened

Marquez: “I already know I’ll suffer. I might as well not finish the Grand Prix.”: “I speak to the doctors, and they ask me if I have to go that fast. Mir? I haven’t ridden for nine months, and I needed to understand. But many riders in the past have done the same."
Neil Morrison Marc posted personal best times on lap 16 and 17, nearly half an hour in. No sign of fatigue at the moment. Really gritting his teeth.
Marc Marquez now has more points in 2021 than Valentino Rossi.
