Someone help me out here. (Truenorth) So we got all these LMH / LMDH cars that are going to run in WEC / IMSA starting this year and going into next year. In WEC for the last 4-5 years the Toyota's have ran the field. As they mentioned in the clip I posted above, are the Toyota's still gonna race? And then there's this. With all these new cars, how long do they stay in if they don't win. Lets say Ferrari. A new car and the first time the factory put a team on the grid since what, 1968. If they finish off the podium for 2-3 years do Ferrari drop the effort or do their F1 trick of firing the managers and start over.

I'm pretty sure that Toyota does not intend to leave and I suspect they might well continue to win. What of Ferrari? I have chosen to be Tifosi despite recent performance, recent being since Schuey days. Can the new car win WEC? I'm going to plead kimi's amendment and say "wewillsee". I could add "Ihopeso". The Scuderia is never short of excuses.

What happened to Ferrari?
(Sorry: I've been having trouble going to sleep lately, didn't go to bed until 4 am. Missed the start.)

Truenorth posted friday's results. That was on cable. Todays race, the IMSA race, the 12 hour thing is not on my cable. What does "Friday's Result" mean? There were two races at Sebring. Friday was the 1000K WEC race where the LMH cars could run. Saturday was the 12 hour IMSA race. Different cars at the pointy end.

I didn't get that either until after the fact. Why the fuck does that happen? I completely wasted my time watching the 12 hours of Sebring, and this race is completely useless, only accounting for IMSA. I need to find a source to watch WEC events (along with WSBK and MotoGP.) NBC and its satellites sucks balls, especially with Diffey on point.

In the past few years some of the WEC races were live on you tube. Prolly if ya paid the FIA ya could see the WEC live. But I never checked that out.

ANALYSIS: How IMSA GTP cars race differently than DPiWith 36 hours of competition in the books, drivers are getting a pretty good handle on the new Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) cars in the top class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. As the series heads into a couple of sprint races before the Le Mans break, everyone is gathering a pretty good picture of how the cars perform. Performance all alone, though, is one thing; how the cars actually race each other is quite another. “I feel it’s hard to overtake,” says Renger van der Zande, driver of the No. 01 Cadillac Racing V-Series.R from Chip Ganassi Racing. “The speeds are higher but we have to brake a bit earlier and the weight is higher as well. The minimum speed [in the corner] is quite a lot lower so you cannot really rely on, ‘Let’s break super late and dive bomb someone.’ I think if you dive bomb someone you’re going straight — you’re going to miss the corner. I think with the DPi you could actually overtake someone on track because you had a bit more downforce, you had a bit more minimum speed and grip to get away with a mistake. With these cars, it seems like if you try to outbrake, you actually are going outbrake yourself and going off the track, so you have to be a bit more careful.” Adds van der Zande’s teammate, Sebastien Bourdais: “I think it’s a little bit harder to follow really closely. These cars just seem to rely a lot on the little downforce that they have, which which kind of surprised me a bit. But we still have seen some passes and some good shows.” racer.com/2023/04/06/analysis-how-imsa-gtp-cars-race-differently-than-dpi/?utm_source=RACER+%2F%2F+Newsletter&utm_campaign=243bbc9d24-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2023_04_06_06_33&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_-243bbc9d24-%5BLIST_EMAIL_ID%5D
