^Well that was pretty stupid. 100-120 MPH in a 45 zone? That's the kind of shit I'd have done as a teenager if I had something that would go that fast.

Test driving a powerful Corvette in the snow?
And they are testing what? Traction control? How dizzy you can get doing donuts?

So you buy a new C8 and to prove yourself you take it to the strip and race an Audi crossover. My much younger self spent time at Lebanon Valley. The strip was still capable of handling top fuel cars and the companion dirt oval featured 3 beers for a dollar on race nights.

Hard to say what caused it. There's a transition from concrete to asphalt at about the 1/8th mile which could have upset things, He could have had all the electronics turned off and gotten bit on a shift, or something could have broken although there's no outward sign of that. Most of the strip parallels a creek on the right. On many nights there's a lot of moisture in the air and possibly the track. I hate to bash a guy but he also might have been in the wrong place.
I remember seeing a BMW M something driver leaving a cars and coffee do the same thing. He was in the wrong place like most BMW drivers, behind the wheel.

Anytime you are required to wear helmet during a driving activity it pretty much guarantees through no fault of your own things can go very wrong. Hope he purchased track insurance.

Who knows. The rear wing is an option rather than the one on the standard base model. There's probably the Z51 performance package involved along with optional trim levels. One of the trim levels features the Performance Data Recorder which uses a dash cam and adds all the various data to the screen and oh yeah stores it. There's also a fair amount of data available to be downloaded if needed present anyway.
I'd chuckle if the GM Onstar setup was alerted and called to see if he needed assistance.
