I wonder... How did the Corvette end up on the wrong side of the road with left-front damage? Was the Vette an innocent victim of the SUV or, was it driven with "irrational exuberance" and crossed the Double Yellow line? Inquiring minds need to know!

The top was off. The long hair from the driver's mullet flew into his eye and distracted him.

OK a bit of "leaked" pricing. Official pricing from GM is due on Thursday the 15th. Here are the basics - 1LT $58,900 + $1095 delivery fee 2LT - $67,295 3LT - $71,945 Z51 - $5,000 Lift - $1495

Sounds like a bargain to me. But I wonder how much the "dealer fees" will be. I suspect that's the kicker.

Never buy new. Buy a two year old car...

There will be some who add thousands to the MSRP to take advantage of early demand but there are also a number of dealers who have already said they will not have any markups of the sticker price.

The part I made bold is what I was thinking of when I made the post.

BTW: If you haven't found $25 to kiss goodby the raffle for VIN # 25 is happening on Aug 31st so there's still time but just barely because out of state (out of Kentucky) has to be done by mail. I don't know if there's options, fax, whatever, besides the mail. If you're worried it will be some watered down base model well here's the specs. These options jack the base price to well into the $70k $80k range. LT2 Small-Block V8 Engine with 495 Horsepower Paddle-Shift 8-Speed Dual Clutch Automatic Transmission Z51 Performance Package including larger brake rotors, eLSD, extra cooling, rear spoiler, splitter, performance exhaust and performance tires Body-Color Dual Roof Package Carbon Flash Painted Aluminum Wheels with Bright Red Calipers 3LT Equipment Group with GT2 Seats Carbon Flash Badge Package Corvette Museum Delivery raffle.corvettemuseum.org/19_Next-Generation-Corvette-VIN-25---83119.cfm

^^ The link to the raffle form on the website loads the wrong form for the C8. Taxes on the winner start at 25% Federal.

Flatcrank V8 for the C8R, and, from the sounds of it, no turbos. As for displacement, I've heard anywhere from 4.2-5.5 liters.
