The hiring of a Ferrari guy into the technical post at Sauber sounds like the beginning of a closer relationship with Alfa/Ferrari and maybe the end for the uber talented Marcus Ericsson. Giovinazzi needs a seat.

Yeah, but they WERE at Monaco. Imagine your view had it been Lewis? ALL of our opinions would be 180 degrees different. Lewis learned about the value of track position at Monaco a few years ago when he changed tires at the end. As long as you are willing to get wide and have brakes you don't have to be that fast on the straights. There are no "passing under acceleration" areas in Monaco. It was a good drive and of course he got himself into the position in the first place by winning pole position, but other than that it wasn't that spectacular.

When the MGU-K fails, it eliminates a huge amount of rear braking capability. He could have easily ended out like Leclerc with a brake failure from compensating for it.

If the engineering exercise for F1 is to improve ERS type power generation - why is their a limit on its use? Because the engineering exercise can be focused on making the units smaller and lighter. It also avoids the possibility that the technology advances much quicker than the FIA anticipates resulting in the cars outperforming the safety elements of the circuits. What drugs are you on?

No drugs at all. I don't see why they wouldn't be concerned that the engine manufacturers would do better than expected and show up with an extra 100 or 200 hp. And as for lighter and smaller, that still gives a performance advantage and is more applicable to road cars than making 400 hp from the hybrid system. I'm also not seeing any other reasons being thrown out there.

The FIA doesn't want the teams dumping huge sums into what is mostly a marketing scheme, so keeping the systems under an easily accomplished limit helps out when cost caps talks inevitably start.

Blah! Blah! Blah! The hits keep on coming. If you can't beat them on track, keep their engineering department busy explaining away the continually occurring allegations. Allege, Allege, Allege! Keep calling fire!

May be fake news since a quick look at the AMuS site doesn't turn up anything even resembling this story. About a month ago hammy commented on how well the Ferrari DRS was working as part of their improved performance..

Kimi is firing a pre-emptive strike against a woman who is going to accuse him of inappropriate sexual behavior back in 2016. He's claiming extortion on her part and getting the first shot in.
No doubt there are at least two sides to the story.

About a month ago hammy commented on how well the Ferrari DRS was working as part of their improved performance.. I managed to find a reference to this by Michael Schmidt on AMuS. So far the only way to tell is by photos on the track. Since Red Bull is plaintiff in this case it's appropriate to remember the photos of the RB flexible wing.

And just how does Horner propose they measure a slot gap moving 150 plus mph? Instead of bitching he should be trying to figure out how to make his cars do the same thing.
