David Emmett: Rossi confirms he broke an engine. But it was an old one with a lot of kilometers on it. Rossi said he was fast enough with the clutch to prevent it going completely. Looked down to check both sides of the bike for oil, couldn't see any
Dovizioso: "Being on paper is no good": "Marquez and I will certainly play, but I also fear Rins and Vinales. We did a great job, if it rained tomorrow it wouldn't be a problem"
KTM Moto2 bike is completely new. Martin and Binder haven't even ridden it until now.
Quartararo: "I am happy, with the operation I have no more pains": "The arms are now OK. The problem is the tires: the hard and the average drop after a few laps, and we need to understand if the soft can be used in the race. The holes? meeting them is a problem "
Petrucci: “Luca's passing teaches us what's important in life”: Danilo on the death of Luca Semprini: “I almost didn't want to race. What's happened teaches us how wrong it is to keep things inside and not have the courage to speak up”
Double fracture for Rodrigo, Brno weekend already over: Following the violent highside in FP2, the Argentine suffered a fracture of the right clavicle and pelvic bone. More exams are waiting for him in Barcelona
Morbidelli: "I'm looking for the explosiveness of Quartararo to exploit the rubber": "I'm working to be like him. FP2 was an FP3 today, we lack top speed and acceleration but we started well "
Quartararo: "I'm pleased, I have no pain following the surgery”: "My arms are OK now. The problem is the tyres: the hard and the medium drop off after a few laps, we need to understand if the soft can be used in the race.

Aprilia planning big changes for 2020 02.08.2019 BSN Aprilia MotoGP technical chief Romano Albesiano has revealed the team are planning some big changes for the 2020 season as they have found the limit of what they can do with the current RS-GP. Aleix Espargaro, and to a much lesser extend Andrea Iannone, have done as much as they can do with the current model, so Albesiano believes it is time to make a ‘big step’ for next year. “For sure for the future, we are planning something really different from what we have now. We have found the limit to our solution in many areas and we have decided this time to make a really big step for next season,” said Albesiano. “We have not done the step we are still waiting for. With Aleix Espargaro, we are experiencing an average expectation of results. “We have 3 DNFs from Aleix, when without those DNFs we would be inside the top ten. With Andrea Iannone, we are still struggling with the rider adaptation and with each other so this is the situation now. “We have done a lot of work, the bike has improved a lot engine wise, chassis wise, weight and aerodynamics too.”

Nakagami said relations with Cal changed after Barcelona race. He put an aggressive move on CC early on. “He got angry after the race. I said ‘this is racing.’ From my side I didn’t change anything. I’m still respectful.”
The BT "pundits" thi k Lorenzo and Honda may part ways after this year and replace Rossi at Yamaha
Maverick Vinales fears he may have just been "lucky" with his Assen win and Sachsenring podium after struggling to 10th place
Marquez is not satisfied: "Some news already available in Austria": "If the data will give the ok, we will homologate the new aerodynamic package for the Red Bull Ring. I like the new chassis, but it's just a prototype"
Alex Rins on Marc Marquez : "He has no respect for other riders"
superbikeplanet: Good job (not) to clearly slow learner Rins. In the words of my grandpa don't throw rocks at the hornet nest. That's exactly the motivation MM93 needed to grind the whole MotoGP grid into looking like hopeless clods.
Neil Morrison: Must say, perplexed to hear Viñales say he has little interest in trying Yamaha's new bike today. "I want to be at the front in Austria so I have to concentrate on acceleration & braking for there." With c'ship chances over, wouldn't it be wise to begin laying groundwork for '20?
Andrea Dovizioso: «Marquez and Honda are stronger, they are putting everyone in crisis» The Italian sees the Márquez / Honda duo superior and urges Ducati to continue working to improve and thus be able to attack.
Neil Morrison: Morbidelli not totally enamoured with Zarco's 1st lap move that led to him (& Mir) falling. Said it was "a move born out of frustration" after JZ's poor start. "We know he isn't the most elegant rider ... but I'm not complaining too much."
Alberto Puig: «Honda has worked for Jorge Lorenzo and we have done what he asked for» The Honda Team Manager recognizes that the Balearic has not been physically well for a long time
David Emmett: New seat unit on the Yamaha. Fits differently with the rearsets. Both Rossi and Viñales have it, so possibly for 2019
Dorna says stop to "solitary" teams in 2020: Stop to teams with only one rider in the intermediate class. Kiefer is closing down, Petronas ready to double, Gresini and Tasca must find a solution.
Twenty-six-year-old Marc Marquez (No. 93 Repsol Honda Team) won the MotoGP České republiky to become the fourth-ever rider to reach 50 premier class victories.
Marquez: "I don't have friends on the track, four laps on bated breath are enough": “In the warm up I rode with a tire used for 6 laps. I have a good margin, but Dovi is always very fast. I'm happier today for my brother's victory than for my own."
Dovizioso: "Being your best against Marquez isn't enough.": "He throws everyone off, but we can't say it's over yet. We still tests on Monday, useful to gain more confidence."

Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Bring Brand-New Equipment to Brno Test Cycle News August 5, 2019 Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team’s Maverick Viñales and Valentino Rossi returned to the scene of yesterday’s Monster Energy Grand Prix Czech Republic for a one-day Official IRTA test. The team-mates secured 2nd and 6th place, respectively. This is a press release from Monster Energy Yamaha and as a result says practically nothing Photos Courtesy of Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team Brno, Czech Republic (August 5, 2019) – Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team’s Maverick Viñales and Valentino Rossi wrapped up a long weekend at the Automotodrom Brno today, successfully completing the MotoGP Brno Test. Both riders were back on track for the eight-hour session, during which they had the chance to test prototype material. The MotoGP Brno Test was the first opportunity for the Yamaha Factory Team to try a new engine spec, aimed at an increased top speed and improved rideability, as well as some other testing items, among them two new Michelin tyres and a medium rear with the existing casing and a new compound on the left-hand side Viñales, as usual, showed his hard-working nature, riding until the very end of the session and completing 74 laps in total. His best time of 1’55.628s was set in the final stages, on lap 68, earning him second place, just 0.012s from first. Today’s outing was overall successful for the Spaniard. He worked mainly on improving the 2019 bike’s performance for the next races and is looking forward to stepping up to the challenge in the Austrian Grand Prix. Rossi also had a very productive day of testing in Brno. He spent time trying the 2020 prototype “black bike,” as well as the standard 2019 YZR-M1. The Doctor completed 63 laps in total and really put his head down on the last stint. His final lap saw him move up to sixth place with a 1’56.015s and a 0.399s gap to first. His time was 0.512s quicker than the Italian’s best time set during the Czech GP weekend, giving him a confidence boost that he is working in the right direction. “After yesterday’s race, it was good that we got extra time at the Brno track so we could get to work again. We had some slight rain in the afternoon, but there was enough dry track time to complete our testing schedule. Vale and Maverick made the most of it and tried new items, such as the new engine spec, as well as the tyres Michelin brought. They also tried the 2020 prototype bike. Valentino more so than Maverick, who preferred to concentrate on his 2019 bike. Overall, the rider feedback has been positive, so we can be satisfied with the progress, though it’s just the first step. At the end of the day, all Yamahas are in the top-6 and the times are similar, indicating we are collectively heading in the right direction. We will go over all the data that we’ve assembled here, both during today’s test and the last GP weekend. The Yamaha engineers will prepare the next steps forward accordingly. Meanwhile, we now head to Spielberg for the next race with a positive mindset.” “Today I was working on improving the feeling on the bike that I had during the race. Luckily, this morning the grip of the track was very low, so this actually helped us to work pretty hard and we found a way to be better. But the tests are always great for us, so this is nothing new. We will keep trying to stay calm and stay focused in Austria. I tried the prototype for a few laps, but I preferred to concentrate on improving my 2019 bike for Austria. The laps on the 2020 bike were good though, they were good lap times, so we will see at the next test.” “It was a good day and a good test, because we worked quite a lot and we found something good. We also tried the prototype of the new bike, but sincerely we don’t have a lot of changes, it’s a different engine and a slightly different setting of the chassis. But these are just the first touches, and what we have is already good. After that we worked more with the standard 2019 bike. Some things on the 2020 prototype are good, some things need to be tested again in Misano. This is to be expected because it’s just a trial run, and we might have something else at the next tests, later on this season.”
