04 October 2018 - 8:27 Lin Jarvis "Yamaha needs concessions" The racing manager opens the possibility to review the rules and on the 2019 engine ensures: "We will still have the 4 cylinder in line" After having feared the idea of modifying the GP format to run the top class ahead of Moto2 and to avoid interferences between rubber residuals from different suppliers, Yamaha would like to talk about technical concessions. In the past, the Iwata brand has halted with Honda and Suzuki against the Ducati to prohibit the development during the season, now that Yamaha is suffering from the race manager Lin Jarvis says he is in favor of going back. CONCESSIONS - The Gazzetta dello Sport on newsstands Thursday, October 4, in a piece signed by Paolo Ianieri sent to Buriram (Thailand) reports this statement by Jarvis: "I would find it a reasonable thing. We have seen how Suzuki struggled in 2017 and Honda the year before: it would increase the competitiveness of the grid. In principle, the system of concessions is a good rule, but if in the common interest all the teams were to decide in this direction, we would be in favor ". DIGIUNO - Yamaha does not win from 23 GP and on the crisis the same number one says: « The problem is that even if the initial error is minimal, just a couple of degrees, the more time passes and the more you are away from the direction you would have had to follow. And it takes time to come back , " says Lin Jarvis, Yamaha racing manager. Maverick Vinales and Valentino Rossi point the finger at Japanese technical management. Jarvis is more diplomatic: "I can not go so far as to say that technicians must be questioned, but the only way out of current problems is to understand what we are doing wrong and start in a new direction. Does Yamaha have men who know how to win? Yes, we have shown it. But something we are doing has not worked for too long. The project and the development of the bike mainly take place in Japan, where the responsible group is, in Italy we have set up a headquarters with people who work on electronics and revise the bikes, but the leadership remains in the headquarters ». NENTE MOTORE V4 - Jarvis also talks about future developments: " We have tried a prototype of the new engine and in Valencia there will be one modified. We are in a difficult situation: Vale and Maverick are struggling to find motivation because they, like us, are here to win the World Cup. Instead we find ourselves in a crisis from which we absolutely must go out » . The same manager blocks speculation on the hypothesis of redesigning the engine, focusing on the V4 like the competition. "Our problem is not just the engine, it's the chassis that does not create enough mechanical grip, it's the electronics that do not control the delivery that the pilots would like the sweeter, the tire management. But I guarantee you that next year we will still have an engine in line. Is it a type at the end of development? I do not think so, I am convinced we can be competitive, but we need to modify it and improve it » .

New aero attachments on the forks. Petrucci used them at Aragon, so they must’ve worked if the factory team have fitted them. They are more about reducing turbulence than increasing speed, cos you’re not going to make the bike go faster there.
David Emmett
Thing about being the #1 rider in Pramac, and getting the latest bike, is that you are also test mule. Petrucci testing aero forks at Aragon precisely for Lorenzo and Dovizioso to use in Thailand, to send more cool air onto the radiator

Lorenzo considering sitting race out after ‘scary’ crash 05.10.2018 BSN Aaron Rowles
Factory Ducati’s Jorge Lorenzo said that he is considering sitting out of Sunday’s Thai MotoGP in Buriram after a huge FP2 highside.

“So if you ask me now, I will say no. But I don’t
