If the F1 Stewards were officiating the Detroit race - How many penalty seconds would be issued to how many drivers?

Pretty good race in my opinion. I was expecting another Nashville, and I was way wrong.

Who was it said street courses was like flying rockets in a sewer pipe. That said I’d take Belle Isle any day over that. But neither compare to MIS just up the highway. Or Burke a few miles the other way. Saw a street derby in person, that was enough. FTR I was never a big fan of Monaco either.
Anyway, that was, a race I guess. Now we can move on to some real tracks. They’re not Iowa and WTF I mean WTR, but it’s a step forward.

So Road America is next. I saw my first race there in the 60ies. A chicago region SCCA event. Been to Can Am races there. Trans Am races there. Formula 5000 races there. Indy car / champ car races there. Prolly one of the premier race tracks in the world. Right up there with Spa. It's better now for spectators. Ya can RV camp at the track. Back in the old days ya couldn't. But there was a farmer about a mile away who allowed camping. The price was cheap. He didn't grow crops. He groomed his fields for the campers. To bad F1 will never race there. It would take Red Bull or Stroll money to bring it up to spec. And then there's no airports near by. And the county / state roads are small affairs.

There were no 'gimme' passes during the event - you either committed or you didn't.

With a complete repave, Road America should be mad fast.

There was a tee-shirt I had. Four miles of black lightning.

Watching Detroit - it is evident the track was designed for TV camera angles, not spectator visual locations.
