Are we talking "extreme" AC or "off reservation" type AC? Not that i'm going to look because I don't want my eyes or computer to bleed. I'm talking actual (NSFW) porn.. I will admit, I have ventured over that area of the interwebz (there a lot of different NSFW type stuff).

Wow. From that camera angle, it sure looked like that pole came close to going in the cockpit.
That would have been bad.

Revitalization plan revealed for North Wilkesboro SpeedwayWith $18 million ready to be spent on infrastructure improvements, Marcus Smith has begun laying out plans to revitalize North Wilkesboro Speedway. Smith, Speedway Motorsports president and CEO, spoke before a group of 250 people gathered Thursday night for the Wilkes County Chamber of Commerce 75th Membership Celebration. In sharing hopes for the speedway to see a motorsports return while bringing other entertainment options to the area, Smith also shared conceptual renderings for the property. “The future of North Wilkesboro Speedway is bright,” said Smith. “There is a great opportunity to revive this fantastic venue to be, not just a racetrack, but a place that can host a lot of events, a place that people will come to from far away and enjoy the community, enjoy the region and enjoy special events. The money comes from the North Carolina State budget. In November, Governor Roy Cooper approved $40 million be divided among North Wilkesboro, Rockingham Speedway, and Charlotte Motor Speedway for improvements. racer.com/2022/01/21/revitalization-plan-revealed-for-north-wilkesboro-speedway/?utm_source=RACER+%2F%2F+Newsletter&utm_campaign=b212694315-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2022_01_21_08_47&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_76623d07b6-b212694315-274287873

If the track comes back and it isn't a sellout and one of the highest TV rated short track races of the last 10 years then it will be failure. Dale Jr., the fandum want the track back.

Dale Jr., the fandum want the track back. I remember it being removed from the schedule because nobody went. IIRC(and I could easily be wrong) it as right after Daytona and the weather was shit. Nostalgia doesn't pay returns on investment these days. That includes Dale Jr. He's old news and so is the track. Old ways and Old days are just that...Old.

The fandum killed that track off not once but twice.
People take what Junior says as gospel. But even if he was running the show, he'd run into the same problems that he can't overcome. Besides he is a team owner and an ex member of the clown club (driver. But he wasn't the worst offender). He has his own agenda.
Yet, people want the old days way more then the new... the old days weren't as great as they are remembered for.

That'll be a big deal for a year or two, but can it be sustained? Look at NASCAR at Indy. The first few years were very successful, but when the novelty wore off things started to go downhill.

I've always been a vocal proponent of never listening to race fans in all racing series worldwide. Whenever I read "bring back" (fill in the blank), I know it's an idiot who doesn't know anything.

NASCAR will have to hit the first violations very hard to prove they are serious.

They should do this if you fail post-race tech. Seriously, if you can't stay within the rules from race 1 to 25 you shouldn't be racing for a championship. And if you fail during the playoff your ass should be out of the playoffs.
Start making examples of teams and stop pussyfooting around.
