These LASER inspections are making NASCAR the laughing stock of the racing world. The more failed inspections and penalties NASCAR hands out the more laughable the entire process becomes.

Fail once, get the opportunity to fix it. Fail a 2nd time, load it on the trailer and tow home. No fines, no back of the longest line, no penalized practice time. Fail a 2nd time GO HOME.

IndyCar has done a far better job of "leveling the playing field" through spec cars and engines. They work closely with the design of the engines to make them as equal as possible (which the manufacturers welcome). And both manufacturers have the same box to put it in. NASCAR with the constant meddling with the aero rules, laser inspections, templates, blah blah blah result in a car that's neither the same as the street car, or a perfomance equal among manufacturers. And gives teams a lot more adjustability. The penalties for stretching those adjustments too far do nothing to keep teams from breaking them. The most penalized team is also the most successful team. The fans who want close racing get screwed. And the fans who want to see "stock" cars get screwed.
